Doc, great point, we're on the same wavelength (i'd been looking at these recently), but heres my question and maybe you can help. The ATECH1FS300 is currently on sale, and then theres the ATECH1FS300FG which is ~$100 more. The S300FG comes in the foam (if that matters) and appears to be a slightly different handle design. A little, but then I had to pay $800 for a flight to a wedding. 7 hours round trip, more than $100 an hour in the air. The sockets will last a few lifetimes, average out to a few pennies per day. Not such a bad price in the grand scheme of things.
I’m the first guy to state that people have the right to spend their money anyway they want to. That being said, the average DIY’er has no need of tools at this price point. You’ll never get the benefit of this level of tool. You are paying 5-10 times the price of a comparable tool that will do every bit the same job and not hammer your wallet.
