You can use cardboard boxes to block weeds. My grandparents did it every year for years. They had some of the best fruit and vegetables and they sold a lot of it.
I was taught to place newspaper around the pants and in the walkways to block weeds. You just lay it out and it slowly composts down blocking weeds. You do have to reapply ever year of course as it breaks down by the next year, but it also gives you the advantage of not using a plastic like the weed block which is adding more micro plastic particles into your food. Plus you could pick it up for free at those big recycling bins. Its a win for you and a win for our environment.
I use shredded paper , cardboard & newspaper paper. That fabric is not good for the environment r ground it doesn’t really decay You & Sasha have a great week
Landscape fabric is reusable. I left mine on over the winter to keep weeds down. It worked well. Using random pieces of fabric is fine if you anchor it down & overlap the pieces. Cardboard works very well as does newspaper & it's free. You've got to be frugal to make your garden worth it. Being creative pays off. Wishing you your best garden ever! 🎉👏🏻
I do love those little luggage train cases for containing craft projects. Good get. A lot of us are still in planting pots mode, procrastination happens
Right nows actually a great time to get plants more like ornamental annuals as they're on sale for cheap I was lucky enough to get 16 marigolds and a citronella for 10$. Very jealous of the pots
I think the movie Some Like It Hot, Marilynn Monroe carries a train case when she boards the train. Such an iconic scene when the train shoots steam (not the sidewalk white halter dress scene btw). I love old boxes like that one, glad you got it. 💜
Those big demi-johns were used to hold battery acid back in the day at auto garages. Be careful if you try to wash use gloves. Those are not water bottles for a cooler but have value. I would not even clean it but take it to the flea market with the box. You could get between $25 to $50 if your market is like here in Georgia.
Rose, Roseville or Rosewood pottery is usually worth good money. All those pots that are terraacotta we could be desired by gardeners who live them. They even use the broken ones for drainage in large pots. Just sayin'.
I'm heading that way. We've already had our 3 100 degree days we can expect all summer. It's getting much hotter, much earlier this year. Aaaargh, the weather manipulation. I hope our heat isn't headed your way. I'm in New Mexico.
I reuse my landscape cloth two to three years. I pull it up every Fall fold it up and put it down again in the Spring. The plants go back in the same holes.
I've stopped using landscaping fabric. I just mulch with straw I get cheap from local farmers. I just do it as a hobby. Trying to convince myself to start my own tomatos and such to save money. Might even sell the extras for a few bucks back.
You could always go up and look at the tires. Generally you can tell closeup looking at a tire if the bike is trash or still rideable. If they were all flat, probably were there for the trash picking
Taco, You've been doing this a long time, you know that whatever you ask, almost everyone wants it for less. It doesn't matter what it costs you in time and fuel or cleanup. It doesn't matter if You Tube defrays part of your cost. Always ask more, your time and efforts have to be considered. You are not running a charity. REALLY! Cheers, Rik Spector
Warning if that's Kelloggs soil I'd be weary of growing in it as it tends to be very woody which will dry our the plants. I'd use it more like a mulch if that's the case.
The revelation of the cost of having your own garden. All the things you said plus paying for water if you're not on a well. It works out to be cheaper to just go buy your vegetables from the farmers market. But then you don't get the satisfaction of growing something.
Hi Taco. What a day of trash picking. You got some nice stuff. The bottle is cool but I like the box more than the bottle, is that weird?, . The enamel pan was rather nice it would be great for outside decor . It could be hung on a garage or fence. Yes gardens are nice but they have a down side. And the cost is crazy unless you start your own plants from seed, and use newspaper or cardboard to keep down the weeds. But if you want a big garden you most likely need to buy plants . I’ve never enjoyed gardening myself but my husband would do a few tomato plants and zucchini, peppers, and such . I do like to grow flowers. Take care. PEACE. ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️🥰🥰🥰🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Here's a thought use the extra gravel in the yard for walking rows in the garden if u haven't had it removed yet will keep plastic or fabric weedless walkway that way u don't have to replace every year
Taco y, didn't you take the 3 tier table? Lay it on its side and place. All the terracotta in between the shelves. And it wouldn't have rolled around people off that stuff, hi.😢😢😢😢
Garden fabric and plastic is put down for only a couple reasons I've been told be my 82 year old mom, one to warm up the soil so you can plant sooner and two for less weeding. Majority of amateur gardeners don't use because the ROI isn't there. You should try it with bare soil once, to see how goes. Good day out 👍👍
My dad repaired our old galvanized water can with baling wire, the handle was broken. Love to show the grandchildren that the repair added 50 years to the can.
Another good clean video. That's another reason I love you. I could watch your videos with my church family. Stay safe, healthy, and blessed. ❤️😘💞💞🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.✌️
Taco people usually buy the whole set if the whole set is together I think you should have picked them all up to set of luggage. You heard the ever see the whole set together?😢😢😢
@@bowiefaniamiam8118 , The thumbnail showed the planters. I just Love how Taco doesn't stage his thumbnails, like most do. I Love Taco because he's real and true.
Well I hope you weren’t planning on selling that clip on lamp because it’s clear destroyed now. Vintage luggage is an easy sell. People use them stacked as decor and tables. Clay Planters like those should always sell well. Then again I’m not sure what type of flea markets you’re in. But those that sell vintage items - do very well.
Those cook books are amazing! Southern living!
The demijohn in its box is very cool! Could have held wine at one time. Drooling over all those plant pots! Nice haul!
Hi Taco. Nice finds. Good day. Thanks for the ride
OMG I would have killed to find that much terracotta, big trend here in the UK, even chipped, shabby chic and cottage core are huge right now. Jo UK 🙂

This exactly.
👏🏻🥰😁
Haven't commented for some time. So relaxing at 4am seing you pick up stuff. Cheers from Australia 🌏.
Simple scrapper rule when it comes to bikes: Check the tires, if they are flat, they are for the taking.

He can also use cardboard. We think alike.
👏🏻👏🏻‼️👍🏻
Great variety of goodies today. Gardens can be expensive to start, but most things are reusable afterwards.
15:49 boy those roads need repaving badly !
OMG all that terracotta...I would've been in heaven😊

We bought the entire set of luggage in 80s. Still have it. 😊
After watching today’s video, it still a good reminder to keep up with your Tetanus shot.😝
Taco stacks! For the win of the day! Thanks for taking us along! I appreciate you! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!
All of those clay pots would have sold around here (NC) Love them!!!
The Samsonite used to be very popular. Nice find.
Yes! I have my grandma’s with her initials on it!!💕
Good morning to you Taco. Good day of trash picking and finding some goodies in the trash. Hope that you have a great day 😊 Taco.
The big jug is a carboy or carbuoy/demijohn. As Robin said, that one wasn't for food use. The food ones are packed in straw and wicker.
The landscape fabric ought to last five years. We are in our third year so far using it. Cardboard works great too though.
Thanks for sharing your day...good finds...til next time...🥰🥰
Good morning Taco..a grrreat new week to you...cheers and hugz From The Yukon Territory and purrz from Bob-0-Lynx 😊❤😊
Use broken crock pots in planters to help with drainage . Smash them up and put in the bottom .

Interesting
I thought the box was made for the bottle now I know why thanks.
You’re right…sometimes I just don’t know what to say about his assessments on certain items😁
Lots of scrap and some fun finds.
Where I come from those 5 gallon glass jars are called carboys.
Google them, new ones cost $25-75 each without the box
You do not need to replace garden fabric every year. It lasts for many years.

We are on a winter weather watch in Montana. Up near Glacier Park and it has been a wet spring and summer on the cold side.

Those electric stove coils are made of inconel, nickel alloy $$
You have to look at your garden as a hobby something to get outside and enjoy nature.

I live in the UK and I got lots different size plant pots from Facebook market place for free
Good day hard work pays ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love how the guy watchvu pick up stovebut didn't volunteer to help

back in the 1990s I was a limo driver and found a Samonite briefcase full of money at the airport.

That must have been a very small rain 🌧 cloud over your van, Taco.
The big bottles do sell for very good money on eBay And I could see them buying the box for a garbage can
Hey Taco, it sure looks like provisions for a Pandemic garden. I am sure they have different vision for this summer 😊
Clay pots are good ! Plastic no good junk.
Go Taco goooooo!
Really enjoyed this episode😊😊😊
Ck those green flower pots. USA is McCoy too
I like the box and jug❤😊
The large bottle is called a carboy
Great Video!
The bottle in the box I get 50 bucks for It's very rare to find the box for the bottle The bottle alone is worth 20 bucks
Thanks for taking me along!
Hello Taco and Salsa.
Any reasonable size cardboard box I get is flattened and used to suppress weeds in the garden.

Put the stuff you plan on selling away from all the scrap-the items are all getting scratched.
I start my plants from seed.My tomatoe plants don't look good from the cold weather!
Love the color of the overnite case.

Great finds today
I am desperately looking for garden pots right now, everyone has recycled theirs or thrown in trash.
DOOR HARDWARE
BRASS
TWO WORDS
HAMMER AND WOOD CHISEL. YOU CAN BURN THAT OLD PAINT OFF IN A FIRE PIT.
Let’s do it…Unique finds today…
Wouldnt that lime green Playmate cooler be worth a fiver at the flea market?
TACO, YOU MENTIONED ALGAE IN SOME
GUTTER WATER...
MAYBE IT WAS TREE POLLEN? WE HAVE BEEN SEEING THAT LATELY BUT IT'S
NOT ALGAE.
Fun day✌🏻

The jug in the box is for aging home made wine

I did use the same fencing for my garden
Go back and get the southern living books
fabric lasts for years .do you eat what you plant?

Why not take the lamps, you can sell them?
I still think I'd get $2 for the watering can for a flower pot Is even with no handle
My dad repaired our old galvanized water can with baling wire, the handle was broken. Love to show the grandchildren that the repair added 50 years to the can.
You say the flower pots are broken in such a negative way! That’s why they are in the garbage to begin with!

Do you ever show taking the items to scrap? Always curious how it works, how you get paid
He does have some videos going to the scrap yard 😊
I hope you are up to date on your tetanus shot. Have a happy day!
He found a set of suitcases and just took the little one.
You left your gloves on after picking up the wire.
OMG if I ever found that much terra cotta I'd he the happiest person on earth!
Wait until it goes own clearance about the end of july
Glad you didn’t take the bikes to teach kids a lesson. You don’t know the parents or the lessons they might teach if the bikes weren’t free.
That’s strange thing to say
