Usually the articulated part is very stable as it the rear part pushes the whole bus there's an hydraulic stabilization system. If you want it to tilt it really won't, it's connected to the steering system as well to allow more movement the more the steering wheel is turned. This is by passed in reverse. Even in snow and ice the rear part usually is true to the line the front part drives although it's pushing. Yes we all know that Russian bus drifting in the tunnel but that was an articulated bus where the engine was in the front part.
Turnable wheels in rear part were only in Ikarus buses (280 series) afaik. In modern buses it's not possible to make the rear axle turnable because it's made of dual wheels for a better grip and weight distribution due to an engine which is located in rear part. Modern bus won't really do a jack knife since they're equipped with hydraulics that will cut off power and stiffen the articulation when the bus bends too much (it's something like 30-40 degrees) to prevent damaging it.
@@mojzesz9846 I've been in an Citaro that had to make an emergency stop after the driver nearly forgot a stop, and after nearly coming to a standstill somehow pushed the gas pedal or something, and had the back part push the back of the front part out towards the bus stop even further, while the front wheels were obviously fully locked in position, it was pretty odd. As for a countersteering axle, we used to have Volvo B10m's here which had that on the articulated buses, and I can still recall how annoyed drivers were when in 2005 the company responsible for bus transportation switched to a different one that started driving around with all new buses that had the engine in the back and as a result (As you mention) did not have a countersteering axle anymore... But then again, we've been seeing Scania Omnilinks for the most part ever since 2005 till now and my opinion on the Omnilink series can basically be summed up to this: Scania should never EVER have made an attempt at trying to build a bus...

MTA Uses Tri-articulated bus: *hits a pothole and bus shatters* MTA Bus Driver: *radios supervisor* "Uh, sir, the bus is broken, as in, the body is completely shattered." Supervisor: Are the wheels still on, and can the bus still move. Bus Driver: Uh...technically yes? Supervisor: It's still good. Complete your route. Seeing this makes me understand why articulated buses can't work on a certain route I use to ride on. It has a very steep hill and has to do a V-right turn in the beginning onto a narrow two-way street. So, yeah...that's not going to work.
not sure if you know this or not (not trying to over explain or anything) but if you don’t want the engine blowing / seizing due to over-revving, put it in neutral as soon as you let off, or even put the clutch in.
