This song is really deep. When i hear the lyrics it makes me think and remember how changing a bad habit is so much harder then starting one. That's why i like his songs because they always have a good real life meaning to them.
Yep it's for this reason I relate to this song so incredibly and I consider it my theme song if there ever was one. The specific line "and I'll escape myself" is the one that resonates with me the most. It goes so much deeper than just bad habits to who I am as a person at the very core of my existence. And it's not really a matter of a condition of self loathing I find myself afflicted by as a victim of my cinema. Rather this stems from a lifetime of introspection, self awareness, observing myself... And through all that being dissatisfied with who I am and desperately longing to evolve and to be more than I am. I don't feel this way as much as I used to. Why that is I'm uncertain. Perhaps I just stopped caring as much about all things in general. Which... _is_ change. And ig a good one. But sometimes I do still get frustrated with myself.
Had my mom listen to this, she said it feels very NIN/Tool inspired with a little bit of Alice and Chains thrown in. It's moments like this that make me appreciate her having me at 19 lol
I thought it said: I’ll cut away everything (CUT IT AWAY) And tear away everything (TEAR IT AWAY) But what you said also has sense :o This is what I love about reading comments.
Lyrics I feel it right at the heart of me and it grips me physically Dragging down so far below And it’s a violent vertigo Digging it in like a parasite Feeding off what I keep inside Manifest when I’m throwing trust To the cold and the nebulous Something’s changing Re-arranging me Just beginning my own surgery I’ll cut away everything And tear away everything Confining Defining I’ll cut away everything And tear away everything And I’ll escape myself I cast off what it means to be Ruled by the happening Moving past the experience Never dwell on the evidence Breaking it off of the identity I come and kill it when I contravene I’m dissolving all of this In the full metamorphosis Something’s changing Re-arranging me Amputating what I no longer need
Discovered this back in 2011, a little after the self-titled album came out, and this song has gotten me through so many tough moments... Nothing but love and respect for Mr. Stahli!
I listened to this song everytime i read Psyren and 666Satan, it became the theme for these mangas for me. I can't get enough of this song, even after i listened it more than 100 times. Much love!
Thank you for this song Bret, this was the most powerful piece you've written (to me anyway) and you could not have released it at a better time in my life. I hope I get the opportunity to thank you in person someday.
I wish that we could make up a word which meant "Fucking more amazing the fucking amazing", so that we could then say that this song (or Artist even) could not be described with words.
when i listen to this song i can see a music video about a guy who has been doing stuff he isn't proud off, he finally snaps and wants to change his life by first throwing everything in his room on the ground, then cuts of his hair then walks out of the house and burns everything to the ground, just to forget his past....
Legendary song! I love how the chorus is sounds similar to Blurry by Puddle of Mudd in my opinion though. "Can you take it all away" and "I'll cut away everything" are similar messages, you know. XD Also, I became a born again Christian now recently, so these choruses definetly describe my relation to my old life in my flesh because when you are in Christ, you are in fact a new creation. It's been an honor to connect with both Puddle of Mudd and Blue Stahli by the way.
@@Im_Iconic-Youre_Ironic True. it's pissing me off that people on the remix's comments are saying it sounds way better than the original. I mean opinions and everything but cmon man, original is WAY better.
I like the feel of the life theory remix better, but this I feel presents the lyrics better. I'm gonna see if I can find a daycore version of the life theory remix that tunes it back down some towards this.
I heard a remix of this a while ago and completely wrote it off as the remix didn't seem to offer the song the justice that Brett created it with.........oh how wrong i was. It's time for me to update my playlists again..........here's to you Brett
Decided to share this with the uneducated minds of my facebook friends :) actually wanted to post the Ultranumb video, but I'm afraid that might give my mom a heart attack, so I thought I'd start with something more ehm... 'user friendly'? edit: just realized that my friends will probably read this: hi peeps! haha

Literally the best riff of all time
1.High audio fidelity
2.Good chords (if there are multiple players)
3.Probably the best key
Yeah love this riff, Bret is amazing with using rhythmic guitar
3:03 was better in my opinion. The buildup, progression, and breakdown are second to none.
Had my mom listen to this, she said it feels very NIN/Tool inspired with a little bit of Alice and Chains thrown in. It's moments like this that make me appreciate her having me at 19 lol
That's a sick mom right there...
This song definitely reminds me of Forty Six & Two by Tool
You have a cool mom
My mom too had me at 19 lmfao
My mom had me at 15
I imagine a villian achieving their final form to this song .
ganondorf to another form
Cell?
Or a hero turning bad lol
OMG YES! Reading this made me cry in excitement T-T
I wonder how many DBZ AMVs paying tribute to Cell used this...
I love the way he says "GET AWAY" near the end of the song like he's lost all control of what he's transforming into.

Lyrics
I feel it right at the heart of me
and it grips me physically
Dragging down so far below
And it’s a violent vertigo
Digging it in like a parasite
Feeding off what I keep inside
Manifest when I’m throwing trust
To the cold and the nebulous
Something’s changing
Re-arranging me
Just beginning
my own surgery
I’ll cut away everything
And tear away everything
Confining
Defining
I’ll cut away everything
And tear away everything
And I’ll escape myself
I cast off what it means to be
Ruled by the happening
Moving past the experience
Never dwell on the evidence
Breaking it off of the identity
I come and kill it when I contravene
I’m dissolving all of this
In the full metamorphosis
Something’s changing
Re-arranging me
Amputating
what I no longer need
Discovered this back in 2011, a little after the self-titled album came out, and this song has gotten me through so many tough moments... Nothing but love and respect for Mr. Stahli!
Best metal step artist ever.
nah, it goes Celldweller, Stalhi, then Treat Reznor.
+GoldenWolf115, blue Stahli is more aggressive and more like metal than celldweller, in my opinion. That's because my favourite is blue Stahli.
+Krepter Technically none of them are metalstep. Electronic metal/rock. Dubcore possibly, but not metalstep.
I first came across Klayton labeled as "Industrial/Progressive."
Cell Vendetta Well because he is that too. You have to remember Klayton has done a ridiculous amount of genres over time.
This entire album is amazing!
For some segments of the song, playing it at 0.9 speed makes the song sound so much more intense which I love.
OK, I'm sorry for being so late to this party but WHERE the F*&K have I been that I missed these guys? Holy crap they ROCK!
these guys? Blue Stahli is a one man project

That chorus had me in heaven omg
Back in my day we only had this Metamorphosis not the one the young 'uns listen to these days.
True phonk one ruined it
They made a shittier version?! I thought this song could never be bad
@@Im_Iconic-Youre_Ironic no, there is a phonk track called the same, look it up.
@TheDennys21
I did, hence the shitter version thing I said bc phonk is just...... weird imo. Not my taste in music I don't think. 🤣
@@Im_Iconic-Youre_Ironic yeah it's weird fo sho but i kinda like it.
As I said in another video, take the Great Vocals of Kamelot add in the bite of Disturbed and you get the perfect blend of Blue Stahli!
There's no bad song from Blue Stahli.
I have not listened to a bad blue stahli song
+Abdulla Rifai You never will.

It is easy just say Blue Stahli ^_^
WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT?!?!?!?
For the first time I'm glad I'm an anime freak =D
I would have not heard of Blue Stahli form an AMV otherwise!
For the first time? Are you telling me that you did not like being an anime freak until now?

Extremely well made
Brilliant!

Your singing voice is beautiful.
