    Thank you for the very informative lecture. In 2023 APIC text, both crude and case specific mortality rates were expressed as 100,000 poulation.

    Your concept check question at point 47:35 in the video is confusing. the question is asking "cannot" make which kind of error. The correct answer for a Type 1 is you rejected the null hypothesis when it is true and attributing significance when there is none. So the type of error you "cannot" commit is a Type 2, because you committed a Type 1. Am i on the wrong track or am I missing something? The video at the end made things worse - more confused.

      I realize this question was stated a long time ago so maybe you've sinced figured it out... but a type 1 error only happens if the null hypothesis is true. Therefore you cannot make a type 1 error if the null hypothesis is false. The null hypothesis is false so you can either correctly reject it or you can commit a type 2 error of thinking it is true.
