Train 5: For the heck of it I added a clip of ALC-42 #300 being towed away from the crash site of 14 on 6/28/23 after hitting a water truck in Moorpark, CA
Train 6: ALC-42 #305 hauls train 11 through Moorpark, CA on 7/10/23 with a crowd of casual railfans gathering for it

I'm so glad Amtrak is finally getting new locomotives, something this country needs sorely
Agreed
Altho i like ge genesis more but i love the looks of the alc-42s! And the k5la sounds amazing
I love the ALCs looks and horn but the P42s will always be my favorite
You can tell when there’s a p42 in the consist before you even see it. Just from the distinct rumble. Sucks that they’re phasing my childhood out…
Yeah it's a shame to see the P42s slowly being less common on trains like the starlight and the empire builder
Yes, I know. They had a little soot when under heavy load, which says “this is a real train,” to me.
Yotam Amit1 has always happened when the black one was made known about city bus train USA cricket officials said Keicho
Beautiful views of the Coast Starlight! There's only one problem. Where is the Pacific Parlor Car? She just looks like any other Amtrak train without it. It's starting to get to the point where you are dating yourself when you can remember that car! 😂
Pacific Parlour Cars were retired I believe. I think in 2018.
I stayed in the Roomette during my trip to LA and back in May, 2021.
It was the worst part of the Virus, nearly, and I tend to not handle being in public all that well anyway.
I love your video. I still watch it. I love those acl42. I glad you put in what happen to locomotive #300 its a shame. To see them in action and being built in Sacramento California Ihope you develop more. Thanks
7:37 i love alc-42 😊
Too bad they literally all sound the exact same. How boring.
Some sound unique, like #320.
@@railfanryan slightly, but they’re all lame generic raised letter horns at the end of the day with little to no character
@@brianjanes4393 can’t argue with that
@@brianjanes4393 raised letters are goated ngl
2:03 F
yeah
@@railfanryandid they ever repair it?
@@benjamindeloney not yet
Will they use the ALC-42 out East for trains like the Pennsylvanian?
Probably in the future yeah
Was 300 fixed or scrapped ?
@@tomh3652 Currently being fixed
@@railfanryan Thanks it looked like it could be fixed.
@@tomh3652 yeah all it needs is framework and a new nose
Awesome video dude!
Thanks!
@@railfanryan Hey, I posted the video. Thanks for the shots :)
@@DavionWest you’re welcome
Also with this video could I use some of the footage :)?
Yes but this is the coast starlight, so if you’re looking for that sure
@@railfanryan Yes, my plan is to take the surfliner and then the coast starlight up to Seattle. Itll be a video starting in Dallas originally, with taking trains in Texas first.
@@DavionWest Cool
