Great stuff Matt! I firmly believe in the pullback and upper body resistance approach to toe touch/heel plant. Over this past year it has helped my daughter tremendously. She has gained much more power and even hit back to back HR's in our Championship game this fall in Medford, OR. We will continue to keep working and I will also be urging the other girls I coach to implement these mechanics. I have enjoyed your turn the barrel series as well. I'm looking forward to helping my daughter with that also. Keep em coming!

Physics governs the biomechanics involved in swinging a bat to hit a ball. It makes no difference what kind of ball you are attempting to hit.

I am teaching 10 year olds and have become confused. I have been teaching this swing, and now other evaluators are seeing that my girls are "dropping their back shoulder" and getting under the ball. I can't figure out the line between pointing the barrel back, turning the back shoulder under the front shoulder for that torque and power, and the dreaded "dropping the back shoulder" that everyone seems to lament. All advice is welcomed!!

i believe for a good swing the right shoulder on a right handed batter is supposed to be on an angle under the left shoulder and is not supposed to be level with the left!

Take a look at Sierra Romero's proper hitting posture to the right of your post.

Probably because they are using their shoulders and upper body to try and create power instead of using their rear hip and their hands to swing
