I think you think that they already close because there not much of their restaurant in West Malaysia, eventhou it's Malaysia first fast food franchise. They even got open their franchise in Brunei, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Australia. And Grandy's. Damn I missed their cinnamon bun. Last I ate there was in late 80's. Also beside SugarBun, Sarawak had a seafood-based fast food restaurant named Captain Morgan. Two of their menu are my favourite, breaded fried small octopus, and Hawaiian Burger(this is the reason why I fell in love with pineapple in burger). It no longer around by the end of 1980's. Plus there was only one restaurant in my city.
KFC & A&W sister co.? This is a pleasant joint... U can hv KFC fried chicken, root beer & waffles after... Yummy!!! A good combo!!! Alamak... terliur dah...
We have had the Zinger burger (spicy chicken sandwich) at KFC Malaysia for a while now, and McD also came out with their version soon after. Those are my favorite spicy chicken sandwiches here, and we now have the Mexicana spicy chicken sandwich at Texas Fried Chicken too. Happy to say all the spicy chicken sandwiches here are all pretty good! Oh, BTW Texas also serves "biscuits" here and yes they are called biscuits. Scones are usually served with butter and jam and aren't sweet by themselves. Here's a newsflash though guys... breaking news: KFC Malaysia serves FRIED CHICKEN SKINS!!! LMAO... yes they do! It's a special available in the afternoons only though! And yes... A&W without rootbeer is an unforgivable sin! LOL
What if next video, you try to make jemput jemput pisang, or ikan bilis (dip with sambal tumis for jemput jemput ikan bilis). You also can make like puri and dip with curry or dhal. It just my suggestion. Anyway i enjoy all of your video.
Trinidad has been rated as the tastiest KFC in the world, the Zinger sandwich and spicy chicken sandwich has been created in Trinidad., what is KFC without good ketchup, mustard and pepper sauce, mixed together.
Combination A&w n KFC Malaysia yes we had it, but in the early 90s it closed as the kfc move a few doors away (Jln TAR). No biscuits in KFC (we only have buns) but we can find them in Texas Fried Chicken. No chicken pot pie either, but we have rice bowl. And for the spicy chicken sandwich, it's Zinger Burger.
Finally! Kumaar Family has listened to us KFC lovers! I couldn't agree more, Logesh! There's no place like a KFC restaurant in Malaysia, especially because I enjoyed eating their delicious chickens since I was little and for this reason, I'll consider working as a delivery rider at KFC Indah Permai (the first KFC restaurant I actually went to and got my first toy from, when I was like 3 years old in 2004 iirc) before I get an actual job soon!
as far as i know, malaysia KFC spicy flavoured are customed to us (malaysian) ,as they only serving the original at 1st..spicy comes later as survey on malaysian people tend to like the food with more herb, flavour & spicy, hence the spicy now on their menu.. and most branded food come in malaysia, they assimilated to our taste compare their own original taste back in their origin..you can check out mizi comel newest video on her channel where she commended that even malaysian food there is abit more like a korean taste..proved that food tend to blend with people there (regardless country) once its there (seting up shop i meant) .. as the flavour goes, since we in asian and the herb, flavour material is easier to get, access in asia compare the west, thats why our food tend to have more rich in term of flavour ,taste and etc.. even the McD spicy chicken now is come back few years back after years of RnD since the the 1st spicy chicken introduced as far as i remembered it..
I recall there was a story about how Malaysians making a big fuss talking about some foreigner star (don't remember who it was) getting excited ordering the hot & spicy KFC chicken. Turns out the 'commonly available' fried chicken to the locals wasn't available outside of Asia. Edit: I remember, it was Nicole Scherzinger.
American KFC in the 1970s was pretty good. Their only product was the fried chicken (what we call OR in Malaysia now), coleslaw, mashed potato and bun. Yup, no biscuit although it was a traditional southern fried chicken staple. They probably introduced that later to compete with other fried chicken places that came up in the States. That combination “snack/dinner plate” seems to be standard worldwide, except for the UK where the set is fried chicken and fries (this was in the 90s). This is because Brits are used to chicken & chips (an alternative served at the fish n chip takeaway).
The biscuit look like scone to me.. as i remember, in Malaysia they serve it with bun and mash potato w gravy.. and they also have rice as and option too..like a butter rice..
Last time I ate KFC in Malaysia was 3 years ago. In Japan currently. It was still so good that time. The spicy chicken was so big, crispy and juicy. Even the breast part was juicy. Not sure about now though. Saw many comments saying the quality has gone downhill.
The chicken is getting smaller especially the zinger burger patty. Cheezy wedges is getting extinct as well. A lot of people prefer to go to Texas Chicken because of bigger chicken and Mcdonald because of their delicious spicy chicken
I lived in canada for more than 2 years. The chicken was larger of course but a bit saltier than malaysia. Overall it was ok. Not sure about kfc from USA the origin country of kfc.
In Malaysia KFC combines with Pizza Hut. A&W is a standalone franchise in Malaysia. I always love the Original Chicken at KFC but the size is definitely getting smaller everyday. We don't have the chicken pie and scone here instead we have a soft bun, coleslaw and mash potato.
I really don’t know . In my younger days , KFC sold itself with the “smell” of the 11 herbs and spices. I recall the kfc In sungai wang shopping centre ~ the “smell” would fill up the ground floor and draw you in. maybe the ventilation In malls are better now.
If i go to kfc in malaysia i always have to mention bagi besar2 sikit eh.. or no drumstick or wings. Because those parts feels like teenage chicken rather than full grown one.
Kumar… please dont downgrade america.. i feel bad for rachel as america is her beloved country.. u can talk good about malaysia but please do not downgrade america.. avoid comparison. Just my two cent. ✌🏻
I couldn't agree more... Malaysians should stop saying "USA is immoral" when they're no different! Different countries should be respected, not condemned...
@@madkhaliqfarhan Except he's right, KFC in US is bad compared to Malaysia. Also wtf does "immoral" have to do with this? Also saying it's the same is wrong. I love the US but Malaysia didn't start an unprovoked invasion war under false pretenses of finding weapons of mass destruction, lying to the UN General Assembly about it (Colin Powell's infamous speech in 2003). I can like a country and still accept it's got flaws and mistakes.
Also it's not just his opinion, AMERICANS in general have fallen out of love with KFC, their quality there has dropped a lot. There's a reason they are struggling there and focussing on their overseas franchises. Modern MBA made a good business analysis video about this th-cam.com/video/VVNSn7oYnOU/w-d-xo.html
What I miss in Malaysia KFC's is their meatball soup. Idk if another branches still sell them, but when we're visiting in 2019, they didn't have it in any KFC that we're visiting.

In Malaysia it's KFC and Pizza Hut usually seen together. Because both of them under the same management. So selalunya akan nampak dua2 restoran sebelah2.
Ayam goreng A&W #1, MarryBrown #2, McD #3, KFC #4 & Texas #5 The last time I eaten KFC complete with bun, coleslaw & mashed potato was on Raya terkejut eve. It was a drive-thru. Order through Panda & Grab, no bun, mashed potato, coleslaw & wedges. Dahlah harga delivery mahal nak mampus, no sides orders & ayam cinonet jer. Ayam goreng Texas besar but not really well seasoned. Ayam goreng A&W the best - ayam not too small, flavourful, juicy & well cooked. Totally agree with your FIL. Before, yes. Now I'll think 10x before reaching out for KFC
In Malaysia, we have some many fried chicken options. We don't have to get it from KFC. Even the pasar malam ones are good enough. Btw, IMO at Malaysia, Texas Chicken (Church's chicken) > KFC
So far, here in sabah the chicken is still amazing. Personally speaking. But we do not have the bun anymore. still have the smash potatoes and coleslaw ( can order ala carte or for some set its included ) and i kinda like the fries 😂 im not a picky eater to begin with, so everything is still good
In Malaysia, those type of biscuits that you were eating can only be found at Texas Chicken, which is a new fast food outlet and has been around here for few years.
Even now in Malaysia, KFC is no more no 1 fried chicken, many people more enjoy Texas Chicken (in USA is called Church's Chicken) or local brand that can be found as street food like Muiz. Or can DIY using flavoured flour that can be found in supermarkets like tepung Bestari or Don Chef etc. Maybe because people fade up with KFC Malaysia quality become downgraded. But for myself, KFC Malaysia is the most tasty, the most delicious than other countries KFC which I have been i.e. Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius etc (I only can taste KFC that offer halal food).
KFC in Malaysia don't have biscuits (scones). It's bread rolls over here. Also, there's usually mashed potatoes and coleslaws. I don't see that in your video, so assuming that those are not the usual sides that comes with the fried chickens. And yes, our favourites is of course, the spicy chicken. I think recently they introduced the extra spicy ones. My family loves the chicken sandwich/burger too. In Malaysia, it's called the Zinger burger. It's my wife's favourite. And, Logesh, you're right. In Malaysia, KFC is a big deal. I dare say that most Malaysians, young and old, like KFC. So, no bad experience like what you have experienced over there. However, recently, all the outlets in Kuching (Sarawak) stop serving coleslaw. Not sure whether this is happening in other parts of Malaysia though. They say it's a "global supply chain problem" thingy. That's the only frustration I have so far at the local KFC.
In malaysia now we got 4 sauces . Ketchup . Chili sauce . Thai sauce . And cheese sauce ( this must add on ) . And you may upset size of chicken . Size smaller than your finger
1. KFC sauces in Malaysian = SAD. Sometimes I don't even get extra chili sauce haha. 2. No pot pie / biscuits in Malaysia. Should have it as maybe a special season(?) (The only 'American biscuit" we get to try is actually from Texas Chicken. Malaysia's KFC is more like potato bread (?). I think some scones in Malaysia is different. They are dry. ) 3. Is the spicy chicken sandwich similar to Zinger burger? 4. Even KFC in Malaysia certain places are 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲; dry and hardly can swallow at times. The last really good one surprisingly I had it was in Gunung Rapat outlet that is near to Sam Poh Tong in Ipoh, Perak. Juicy, tender. Very fresh. Thank you for having such an interesting review of KFC near your district. Maybe one day the Malaysian hot and spicy version should showcase in US too :-P
that place looks rundown. reminded me of a kfc thats next to sogo in KL. full of birds poop outside the place. i called that scones. really surprised me the first time i heard them called it biscuit.
Some outlets out there don't maintain the standards in terms of chicken size & too often they were served dry & cold, meaning the chicken been sitting in the warmer for quiet awhile & not fresh from the frier..
I think most Malaysian would call it a "bun" and for those who have wider vocab, we'd call it "scone". "Biscuit" ALWAYS refers to cookies and crackers.
@@redzuanmanan9653 not much of a texas chicken guy but that's interesting. Butter biscuit in my mind is the type of biscuit in tin that grandmas use to keep sewing kit.
I'm prefer Marrybrown because of Nasi Lemak Marrybrown, Nasi Kandar Marrybrown and Fish and Chips and KFC only prefer their coleslaw and cheesy widgets only
I love KFC it's the fast food franchise our family grew up with, it's popular in Sabah. And yes from the experience I got in Virginia, KFC chicken is not as good as Malaysia's. But I would come back just for the biscuit (cos I love biscuit) but my s/o was like ugh never again 😂 P/s: I also tried Bojangles which also serve biscuits so now that's my fav chicken joint. But gotta try more and see which serves the best!

How about Sugarbun? It's a Malaysia own fast food franchise since 1979.
@@AlexSDU Sugarbun!!! It's along forgotten name! Same like Grandy's. Sugarbun if I'm not mistaken, its already closed...end of 90's..or early 2000's...
@@azliwinchester2100 Nope, SugarBun still thriving.
I am Malaysia. Most of the people in Malaysia call Scones but also so of them call Biscuits
macam roti bun pun ada
I thot KFC Malaysia is so bad. I am now a fan of Texas FC or Marrybown's FC nasi lemak... 👍
The chicken is damn small
How about Sugarbun? It's a Malaysia own fast food franchise.
@@AlexSDU sugarbun is a confectionary baker right? Buns, pau, breads, cakes.
Between KFC and McD, i'll for Marrybrown first.. 🤭😅
Honestly, the best part of malaysian KFC is the LIFE Chili sauce it comes with. Totally changes everything about the chicken.
ONE CHEESY!
- No cheesy wedges in America :(
Love you grandpa Cooper. ❤
Would really like to hear Rachel's comment on the taste
So funny when Rachel corrects Logesh's grammar🤭 first time seing that, usually it is Logesh who kept correcting Rachel's BM😅
I 💯% agree with you...😜
Oh..Logesh, you're calling Ky Ky with "Baby Daiyun"..please tell us what that refers to 😄🥰
Kyren is getting cuter and cuter by the day.
We call biscuits scones in Australia as well.
Your dad should have a side gig as a Colonel Sanders impersonator! 😜
Yeahhh. Dad looks really like Colonel Sanders. No joke, man. Minus the goatee that is. But the beard suits just nicely though. 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
KFC in Malaysia's quality has gone down drastically compared in the 70's and 80's. They are serving cold, cooked-yesterday pigeons now.
as far as i know, malaysia KFC spicy flavoured are customed to us (malaysian) ,as they only serving the original at 1st..spicy comes later as survey on malaysian people tend to like the food with more herb, flavour & spicy, hence the spicy now on their menu.. and most branded food come in malaysia, they assimilated to our taste compare their own original taste back in their origin..you can check out mizi comel newest video on her channel where she commended that even malaysian food there is abit more like a korean taste..proved that food tend to blend with people there (regardless country) once its there (seting up shop i meant) ..
as the flavour goes, since we in asian and the herb, flavour material is easier to get, access in asia compare the west, thats why our food tend to have more rich in term of flavour ,taste and etc..
even the McD spicy chicken now is come back few years back after years of RnD since the the 1st spicy chicken introduced as far as i remembered it..
The ex-girlfriend of Lewis Hamilton...
Dad is always chill and a cool dude to hang out with
It's BUN in Malaysia. Not biscuit. Ha ha
Yeah, it is called a scone. My personal opinion: Mekdi ( McDonalds ) makes better chicken these days.
Its same like texas chicken butter biscuits right?
The biscuit look like scone to me.. as i remember, in Malaysia they serve it with bun and mash potato w gravy.. and they also have rice as and option too..like a butter rice..
Hi
Thanks for the video. You really make me hungry right now.😄
Last time I ate KFC in Malaysia was 3 years ago.
Still is. Depending on branches
I lived in canada for more than 2 years. The chicken was larger of course but a bit saltier than malaysia. Overall it was ok. Not sure about kfc from USA the origin country of kfc.
I like this couple. They are cute. God bless you Kumar and your dalings wife & children😍🙏🕊
Is it mike from breaking bad 1:12 🤣🤣
In Malaysia KFC combines with Pizza Hut. A&W is a standalone franchise in Malaysia. I always love the Original Chicken at KFC but the size is definitely getting smaller everyday. We don't have the chicken pie and scone here instead we have a soft bun, coleslaw and mash potato.
Pergh! Lazat tak terkata...
I really don’t know . In my younger days , KFC sold itself with the “smell” of the 11 herbs and spices. I recall the kfc In sungai wang shopping centre ~ the “smell” would fill up the ground floor and draw you in. maybe the ventilation In malls are better now.
You have an optimistic observation 😂
It's a fast food restaurant chill. And trust me if you've tried both like I did, you would have the same opinion.
Also it's not just his opinion, AMERICANS in general have fallen out of love with KFC, their quality there has dropped a lot. There's a reason they are struggling there and focussing on their overseas franchises. Modern MBA made a good business analysis video about this

One thing I missed from Malaysia KFC is the milkshakes. They used to have them but stopped selling them in the 90's.
Hi Fam.. Logesh and Family is now in Klang, Malaysia visiting Logesh's hometown
What I miss in Malaysia KFC's is their meatball soup. Idk if another branches still sell them, but when we're visiting in 2019, they didn't have it in any KFC that we're visiting.
I know right? I miss the meatball soup too...
They also used to serve quesadilla in 2000's. Very underrated menu. Its a shame they didnt bring quesadilla back on the menu :'(
@@madkhaliqfarhan good thing they still serve the cheesy wedges. But the meatballs soup was really good. I try to recreate them, it's just not taste the same.
I think your tongue is aligned to malaysian benchmark. I think that shows you miss malaysia and it keep on increasing day by day.
tbh even foreigners living in here, love kfc or any other fastfood restaurants while in malaysia 😂 one of my husband's client said, it was cleaner and tastier here compared to back there
and on the sides, i'm with rachel on how in the world did a&w just ran out their rootbeer?! its their signature
Hi from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
KFC is the best here!
In Malaysia it's KFC and Pizza Hut usually seen together. Because both of them under the same management. So selalunya akan nampak dua2 restoran sebelah2.
Yeah, which One is Logesh refering to that A&W & KFC is under One roof?
@@MEYusof the closest mungkin restoran jejantas Ayer keroh. Cause at there got KFC and A&W located berdepan each other. Senang nak rebut pelanggan 🤣🤣
I usually see it in Kota Kinabalu... Nice!
Ayam goreng A&W #1, MarryBrown #2, McD #3, KFC #4 & Texas #5
The last time I eaten KFC complete with bun, coleslaw & mashed potato was on Raya terkejut eve.
But we do not have the bun anymore. still have the smash potatoes and coleslaw ( can order ala carte or for some set its included ) and i kinda like the fries 😂 im not a picky eater to begin with, so everything is still good
my fav kfc.. colonel burger, nugget, original chicken.. and i really miss, Hawaiian zinger burger.. 😍
In Malaysia, those type of biscuits that you were eating can only be found at Texas Chicken, which is a new fast food outlet and has been around here for few years.
Not 100% sure..But I think Popeye pun ade juga biskut mcm tu..Not suŕe whether its the same thing.
damn y'all got the jack harlow meal! wish we could get it in Malaysia
Hahaha!!! Thanks for the clarification. I'm from TX and couldn't figure out what Texas chicken was!!!
@@andrealmoseley6575 Malaysians call it "Texas Chicken" because they refuse to say "Church"...
Haha interesting. Never gone for fast food anymore since i been a cafe king myself. Hahahaha.
Macha, bring your father in law to Malaysia lah…
Cuba pergi makan kat Mesir, bro! Lagi kelakar. Lapar pun boleh tergelak.
loving the sweet outro music!
Logesh and Rachel's beautiful marriage comes to mind... 😇
Honestly, I'll go to Thailand if I want to eat Thai food instead of eating them in Malaysia...
1. KFC sauces in Malaysian = SAD. Sometimes I don't even get extra chili sauce haha.
2. No pot pie / biscuits in Malaysia. Should have it as maybe a special season(?)
(The only 'American biscuit" we get to try is actually from Texas Chicken. Malaysia's KFC is more like potato bread (?). I think some scones in Malaysia is different. They are dry. )
Ip
Hello
that place looks rundown. reminded me of a kfc thats next to sogo in KL. full of birds poop outside the place.
i called that scones. really surprised me the first time i heard them called it biscuit.
Some outlets out there don't maintain the standards in terms of chicken size & too often they were served dry & cold, meaning the chicken been sitting in the warmer for quiet awhile & not fresh from the frier..
Malaysia texas chicken had that biscuits. We call it honey butter biscuits. It’s so gooood
Call it scones logesh...come on..hehehe
In Indonesia :
A&W : french fries and sundaes are good
KFC : crispy chicken and cheese burgers are good
Masa zaman sekolah dulu, sanggup kumpul duit sbb nak makan di kfc
Ur right Logesh...everything changes, I wish KFC foods was good back in 80s & 90s during our childhood.
I think most Malaysian would call it a "bun" and for those who have wider vocab, we'd call it "scone". "Biscuit" ALWAYS refers to cookies and crackers.
In malaysia, texas chicken serve that “bun”, it called butter biscuits.
But I would come back just for the biscuit (cos I love biscuit) but my s/o was like ugh never again 😂
P/s: I also tried Bojangles which also serve biscuits so now that's my fav chicken joint. But gotta try more and see which serves the best!
Now I got a hankering for KFC Zinger burger
I called the scones 'bun manis'
Colonel Sanders is with you from the beginning, you just didn't notice... kidding pops!
