I bought a 2020 kicks a few days ago from CarMax and I checked the air filter and it was nasty, so took it to jiffy lube and to replace the air filter and cab filter. They told me that the filters looks that they were the original filters that came with the car, they was so gross to look at.
Just changed mine. I can see why they charge so much to change it at the dealership. My theory is that these OEM’s make these simple tasks so difficult so that people feel forced to get the dealerships to charge $50 to change it.
with no radiator cap, your coolant is just vaporizing while the car is running. you need to get a new one asap, as it's the seal that allows the antifreeze to be put under pressure
@@bullseyenate231 Actually, you were right too. There were actually 2 sets of arrows on the original. One set showed FR with bit arrows, and one set pointing the opposite direction did not say anything, so I assume they were air flow. How's that for confusing? The replacement I bought from Amazon had just a single arrow on it, with no words at all and no instructions. So I guess I take my chance and assume that it means to point to the front of the car. Local car parts stores don't sell this filter in Canada, so I could not buy from them.
@@DonFather yes the filter is filtering the air being brought into the car. The air comes from the front engine side of the car not from the inside of the actual car. This is how you can know which way the arrows should be pointing. The arrows should be pointing the way the air flow is being taken in.
This is a great tutorial, but I have to confess I did not succeed in changing out the filter. The placement of the filter is way up towards the engine and I am too fat and my arms are too short for me to unhinge the white clip to get to the filter. You also have to practically lie down in the floorboard to reach everything. I did get the side cover off and on, but no luck in being able to get a good reach on the white clip to access the actual filter. Looks like I will be paying someone $80 to do it. I might have been able to do this had the filter housing been closer to the seat or if I was 40 pounds lighter and my arms two inches longer! Nissan did a terrible job with this, as there is barely any room to work even if you can reach the filter! All of my Hondas have their cabin filter inside the glove box and I can change those out in under 5 minutes. Oh, well. Thanks again for showing us how it is supposed to be done!
Just google your year make and model and there will be lots of cabin filter options for you. I didn’t include the part number because there are so many different options. Choose whichever one suits you and your vehicles needs best.

Just FYI, when I took my original filter out, the arrows were pointing forward. I saw that on another video too, just to confirm.
