I remember this game like it was yesterday! Reggie was our new savior and I had just sprouted my first pubes later that crisp autumn. What a marvelous year.
@@malcolmcarroll2548 Sterling was gonna be one of the greatest for sure. Over the course of his 7 year career, Jerry Rice was the only receiver who had more receptions, receiving yards, or TD catches.
I remember on madden 09 when u go to the HOF list u could add players from any team to the current roster. I got Reggie white on the packers he was a 99 I looked at his stat. He 100 power move. It was unstoppable
Alot of ppl say L.T. is the greatest defensive player in NFL history but in my opinion it's debateble with this man right here he was just as dangerous
Nobody could move and make plays all over the field like Taylor, though. In his rookie year, he was a gunner on punts! DB speed and DL strength in a linebacker.
Reggie was better because he didn't need a scheme to enable his skills. Just brute strength and opportunity. Taylor had his opponent's respect but Reggie had 320+ lb grown men, all pro's and future hof'ers, scared to play him
Couple of legends announcing this one with Uncle Verne and Coach Madden! Edit: also the 1992, 93, 98 CBS theme song was one of the best NFL themes ever!
As a kid I used to marvel at how Randall Cunningham would roll out left as a righty and turn his whole body square while running and flick it 40 yards on a rope like it was nothing. He was somethin
1993 is probably my fav NFL season ever. Part-misty-eyed nostalgia, but I love all the great players at their peaks in this era, on many teams, and all the classic uniforms. Classic commentary pairings of Pat & Madden, Emberg & Trumpy, etc. @11:28 I love the Madden telestrations too LOL! Madden '92-'93 on Sega Genesis is probably the goat Madden too.
Today's referees would pass out if they officiated this game. 90's era NFL was legendary and will never be matched. The toughness and skill of Favre, Reggie, Sterling, Randall, Hershel.... Sunday afternoons were FANTASTIC
Watching this throwback, I realized there were virtually no shotgun formations. Everything was under center. Today it seems a majority of plays are from the gun.
Philadelphia Eagles was member NFC East Division from 1970 through 1993 and Green Bay Packers was member AFC Central Division from 1970 through 1993 era
Notice how uncluttered the tv picture is. @6:42 there is a station identification/game info graphic that lasts about 1 second then disappears. Today, it's hard to see the program with all the logos chyrons etc etc. Today the screens are bigger, but they are made smaller with worthless graphics. Crazy.
Imo the mid to late 90s would be rewritten in football history if Sterling Sharpe remained healthy. Shouldve been the greatest Packer receiver in history and would change the whole meaning of the GB vs Den match-up
Still hurts that Noble, Paup, Holland, Sharpe and a bunch of other guys that played their guts out for a lot of bad Packer teams just missed the Super Bowl
I watched that at my apartment. I took Heather to breakfast that day at Tom Transi's place down down 611. I forgot the name of it we had breakfast there came back and watch the game hi Heather.
Oh yes, I went there in high school to score a bag of pot off Linley Hicks. Excuse me, not me my friend Adam Lisbon and Heather was not there. She was out with her boyfriend living at her boyfriend's house we were in high school? Where is the parents?

Did throwback like this without reading the whole thing?
Southern Dandy Lmao
Southern Dandy tmi man
Too much information 😂
brett favre
sterling Sharpe
reggie white
randall cunningham
herschel Walker
even Bavarro
what talent this game had
Don't forget Pat and John Madden
Sterling Sharpe's career much too short. Was on track to be an all time great. Eagles seemed to have Favre's number back then.

The rare Verne Lunquist-John Madden announcing combo
Pat Summerall would have been away at U.S. Open Tennis, as per usual Week 1 of NFL back then.

I put Reg and LT 1A and 1B. They both wrecked massive havoc on teams for years. Imagine if they played on the same team for many years lol.

The best NFL on CBS Theme!
We can't ignore Herschel Walker's hard running. Walker keeps dropping his shoulder and beating up LBs.
Seeing these 90s Throwbacks makes me wanna play some Tecmo Super Bowl again. Ready! Down! HUTHUTHUTHUTHUTHUT!
amen
Sterling should be in the HoF, Kenny Easley got in with about a similar length career. Im a Seahawks fan! He was the best Sharpe!
I love that old look Lambeau Field 😍
Best field
Football just looked tougher back in the day

The good old days when Football was Football

When football was still a gladiator sport. RIP Reggie White.
These Eagles throwback uniforms are beautiful
Meh I don't like them and they represent the Eagles era of losing and disappointment.
No one realized that Reggie is famous for playing for Packers but no one had little knowledge that he had a record sack season season in Philly
2:10 That hit would've been roughing the passer in today's NFL.
Ten years later, another Packers vs Eagles game would shake the Packers community to their core.
4th and 26?
That MNF game in 2003 was a tough loss.
...yea. 4th and 26.
12BJJohnson what are you talking about?
12BJJohnson I’m not an Eagles fan. I’m a Packers fan. I was just confused as to what you were saying. Now I get what you meant.
Randall Cunningham was 4-2 in starts versus Brett Favre's Green Bay Packers.
8:40 can you imagine the amount of penalty flags that would go flying today! Lol
The70's thru the Early 90's was the Best Era in time for the NFL.
@@fredthompson4568 ...Not for the players brains lol
Thanks, NFL Throwback. Can you please upload in the near future a Reggie White's career highlights video?
Randall threw an absolute dart on a line drive
The audio of the blimp overhead takes me back... you'd always hear it in the background for big games.

This might've been the only time that Verne Lundquist and John Madden have done a game together.
spinner90 nope, they did it quite a few times going back to the mid 1980s. Verne filled in for Pat Summerall when Pat did US Open tennis.
This is the highlight of Richie Kotite's coaching career.
2010 season opener and wild card game where Mike Vick got intercepted in end zone. Packers won Super Bowl that season. still hurts as Eagles fan.
eagleshade11 Those Games Will Be On The NFL ThrowBack Classics
I never dreamed I'd be living there someday
Have a good feeling that the Eagles will pull off the win in Green Bay. Alshon is back and Wentz looks poised to be the leader of the offense again.
Not with that offensive line giving up on him
12BJJohnson LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL UMMMM no

him and Charles Woodson both were the biggest free agent moves ever with the championship packers in 96 97 and 2010 imo....
Nothing like seeing a defensive tackle aka the minister of defense in action on the field
Secretary lmao. Wait, is this a setup?
@JoJoe MC thanks for the correction
Eagles, the only one who is capable of letting go or losing Reggie White to another team
Watching this throwback, I realized there were virtually no shotgun formations. Everything was under center. Today it seems a majority of plays are from the gun.
i was expecting that the nfl throwback would upload the 4th and 26 play.
That felt too obvious, wanted to throw a curveball at the fans!

Dat was a great hard hitting game 💪💪💪💪💪
Those boys was hitting hard i felt some of them threw my phone
These were the days
That throw from Favre at 9:25 He just flicked his wrist going the opposite direction
Nas Holston kinda like what Mahomes does today

RIP REGGIE
This game was must see TV except in Atlanta we got the Saints Falcons both were to the last play however the green Bay Packers made the playoffs
Reggie had a career game fresh far became a name, and Randall Cunningham one in the end

Eagles back then drafted a lot of busts on the offensive line until Tra Thomas arrived

Reggie White was INCREDIBLE!! It’s a shame I was too young to have seen him play omg #GOAT

Packers 24
Eagles 13

White with a strip sack on the first series. Legend
4:10 it was probably best that Sharpe dropped it otherwise that hit would have been brutal
Wish telecasts were this great today, now it’s all gambling and sideline reporting kissing players asses
4 touchdown passes in this game
9:30 holy shit
Bacon and eggs, home fries
The packers are playing like trash right now they had it going on the first quarter until they made a mistake and let the eagles take the energy
Randall Cunningham was 4-0 in games started against Reggie White's Green Bay Packers.
I refused to buy a car at a Braman dealership because he destroyed the Eagles.

Favre was painfully bad in this one.
