I returned from India a couple of weeks ago after spending 6 weeks travelling, mainly Northern parts. Varanasi was high on my list and it didn't disappoint. An assault to the senses would be an understatement but it was an experience I truly loved. Being 70s years old and travelling alone has its challenges but, whilst I came across quite a few scammers, the people, in the main, were kind and helpful even though, unlike you, I didn't speak the language. The best Lassi shop I found was the Blue Lassi shop, that I came across walking down those back alleys you walked and showed so well. Unfortunately the Ganges was in flood after some heavy monsoon rain so no boats were operating due to the fast currents. The Ghats were very spiritual and attended, by invitation, a cremation on the banks of the mighty River. Ah, I could waffle on for ages. I wont but just to say that no country that I have visited left it's mark like India has. Loved the video and will watch it again. So many happy memories.
Visited blue lassi shop about a month ago got my photo stickes onto the wall. Was disappointed they ain't selling no bhaang. I tried their mango lassi what did you do?

In soviet countries some places look pretty depressing but livable, It even has some charm to It. But everything Is repulsive about Indian cities: the noise, the dirt, the crowd, the road chaos. It would all drive me insane very quickly
i went to Bangladesh, it's shit
@@bangasou12 Bangladesh is a shittier version of India.
Can everyone stop thinking that the entirety of india is like this place? It's not. If you go to the better parts, it looks nothing like this. In the big cities, there is a lot of poverty and beggars.

When my dad was in India people would come up to him tying to sell handkerchiefs
and they would offer him a price like $10 maybe
and he would say "no no no ill only take it if its $100
and they would walk away extremely confused
😂😂😂
Haaaaaa ha ha ha!
You dad = AWESOME!
Lol
I think deliberately confusing people who want to scam you is the best strategy. But this strategy needs at least a bit of knowledge about the people, the city and the country.
Maybe trying 'to scam' the people yourself by wanting them to buy a handkerchief from you is also a valid strategy. This should confuse these scammers pretty much, too.
After a 5 minute walk I would never be able to find my hotel back again there.
