Must Try Street Food in Cebu City! 🇵🇭

  • I went to Cebu City to try exotic food at the Colon Street Night Market! This was my first time trying things like Chicken intestine and liver, giant snails, and whole squids! I wanted to test my American tastebuds to see if they could hold up to some relatively strange flavors (and creatures).
This night market is filled with delicious foods and friendly people! Although I stepped out of my comfort zone quite a bit, I was pleasantly surprised with the foods we tried.
I started with a local delicacy, Skewered Saang. A snail like treat that was the perfect start to the night. After a mango shake from an extremely friendly lady, I snuck in some relatively safe fried Quail Eggs.
It was downhill after that, I ordered a Whole BBQ squid, some pork and chicken liver, and of course some chicken intestine to round things out. All in all I had a fantastic night, one of many first times for me!

Interesting Bikini Bottom fare there. 🐚🦑😂
I've had those shelled crustaceans before but just tiny ones. But i imagine they taste the same as those huge ones, but without the need for Thor's hammer. 😆
The orange balls with quail eggs is called Kwek Kwek. Very popular street food throughout PH. So's the chicken intestines (Isaw). I like pork liver but cooked as Liver Steak with lots of onions. Really good. Btw, Isaw and those other grilled meats are actually not normally eaten with rice. They're not really considered as "ulam" (food that goes with rice).
    :)
