"Thomas, Lincoln and the Missing Christmas Tree"
This story takes place during the second series episode, Thomas and the Missing Christmas Tree.
It was the 23rd of December, two days before Christmas. Many children were expected on the Island of Sodor. All the engines and special friends were busy with the final preparations. The Fat Controller, Mr. and Mrs. Loud wanted this year's carol party to be an extra special celebration.
The Fat Controller, Mr. and Mrs. Loud were now waiting impatiently for Thomas and Lincoln.
"Quickly now," said the Fat Controller. "Our Christmas tree has arrived just in time. I want you and Lincoln to fetch it, Thomas."
"Duck, SpongeBob and Patrick can look after Annie and Clarabel until you get back," Mrs. Loud assured.
"Will we be able to sing carols too?" asked Thomas.
    "Can we" asked Lincoln.
"We'll see," promised the Fat Controller.
"If you do a good job with that tree transportation, we might," agreed Mr. Loud.
"Now, off you go you two," said Mrs. Loud.
"It would be nice to sing to sing carols again," said Thomas
"Especially with our friends" agreed Lincoln Loud as they set off on their important mission.
Soon, Thomas and Lincoln had collected the tree safely, and were making their way back.
But large snowdrifts lay ahead in the Branch Line Cutting.
Thomas steamed into the drift and got stuck.
"Are you alright, Thomas?" Lincoln asked.
"I'm fine Lincoln, but we mustn't be late," Thomas thought. "The Fat Controller is relying on us, and so are Mum and Dad."
"Then we have to get out of this snowdrift" said Lincoln "Can you do it Thomas?."
Whistling bravely, Thomas tried to move out of the snow, but he couldn't.
    There was worse to come!
Some snow slid from the hillside all over them.
Poor Thomas and Lincoln were snowed under!

Back at the sheds, Henry, Gordon, Donald, Douglas and some of the special friends waited and waited for the Christmas tree to arrive.
Some of them were grumbling about Thomas and Lincoln for being late and whistling impatiently while some were wondering for how long they are tanking and are worried.
      "Silence!" the Fat Controller boomed.
      "Enough!" Mr. Loud snapped.

"Thomas and Lincoln left the works safely, but snow has brought the telephone lines down," the Fat Controller explained. "We must assume they are stranded."
"They might've got caught up in an avalanche," Rita informed. "And if they and the tree aren't rescued soon, there will be no Christmas party tonight."
The engines and their friends now felt sorry for Thomas and Lincoln. Cold, but confident, Dora, Boots, Leni, Luna, Lola, Lana, Tigger and the Scottish Twins set off to the rescue.
Soon, the rescue party came to a drift that was deeper than the rest.
      "Help!" cried a muffled voice.
"Hush!" said Donald. "I can hear something!"
"What do you suppose that is?" wondered Leni.
      "Probably the wind," said Douglas.
"The wind?", asked Tigger and lick his finger to check. "But there no sigh of any wind."
"That doesn't sound like the wind to me," replied Lana.
"HELP!" said the two voices again.
      "No, listen!" insisted Donald.
"Be quiet and listen!" added Luna.
"Where are those voices coming from?" asked Boots
"Over here!" the voices cried once more.
Then, Leni saw something in the pile of snow.
"Why is there a red branch waving in the snow?" she asked.
There, sticking out from the snow, was an arm.
"That's an arm, not a branch dude" began Luna.
"Uh, guys," said Boots. "You don't think those voices sound like..."
Now, everyone quickly realised who was under the snowdrift.
      "Och! It's Thomas!" gasped Douglas.
      "And Lincoln!" added Dora.
"OM Gosh, you guys, they are buried under the snow."
"Come on, the poor wee engine and lad must be frozen to the frames in there," said Douglas.
When the workmen arrived, it took some time to decide how to dig away the drifts of snow. Thomas' driver and fireman, who had taken shelter at a nearby cottage, joined the rescue.
Lincoln was the first one to be freed.
"Are you alright, Lincoln?" asked Leni.
"Yes, Leni, I'm alright," he told his sister. "Just a little cold."
"Now, all that's left are Thomas and the tree," said Dora.
At last, after much digging, Thomas and the precious Christmas tree were freed from the snowdrift.
