I had a L5 S1 total disc replacement back in 2013, and I haven't had any problems with my back since. I didn't even take any pain pills and was able to walk within a couple of hours after my surgery. But I do know of a person who had the surgery from a different Dr. and didn't have a good outcome, but he didn't follow the doctors instructions on how to take care of himself during his recovery.

But I’ve heard about your procedure and I really appreciate what you have to say about the artificial disc. I am registered. The truth is about the artificial disc that they can cause life-threatening complications and don’t work as they have been promoted. Thank you so much for this wonderful lecture. ADR is better than fusion, its the surgeon not doing their job property if the discs have moved out or popped out. ADR is way more advanced then stupid fusion, Fusion after 5 years or so will cause the top and lower discs and joints to degenerate. Thats why you need an experienced surgeon that knows what they are doing to put the ADR, regards this laser treatment, I will do some research

Artifical disc may pop out or become heterotopic ossification independent from surgeon. It is not that simple. All i can say that ADR may be a good option for young patients without degeneration sufferin cervical disc herniation.

I like Dr. Deuk, but Deuks quote was $50,000. His assistant mailed me a quote $150,000. for the cervical - cash!!! And then refused to return my call.
No insurance coverage. So be cautious when you speak to his assistant, the assistant is not truthful (on two accounts) that I discussed with Dr. Deuk on trying to figure out payment. Dr. Deuk shot his assistant, the look. I can appreciate Dr. Deuk's work, but it's difficult to get some insurance companies to pay, especially if you're out of state. So be prepared to refinance your home or take out a HELOC.
It's sad to say, but the insurance companies don't want to pay for laser. It's not right.

You have clearly not understood what you were told.
It may be that your surgery bill total is $150,000. That would be billed to your insurance after the surgery. If your insurance paid 100%, you would pay nothing for the surgery. The smaller amount you were quoted may have been your up front deposit. Like I said, by your comments here you clearly misunderstood or you are trying to mislead other people reading your post.
PS: You need to take some responsibility for your insurance plan you chose if they decide not to pay. Deuk Spine Institute didnt chose your insurance for you. There are many bad insurance plans out there that dont want to pay for expensive treatments like spine surgery. Best advice is to avoid them.

Well the Artificial Disc will need perhaps some redesign so that it does not pop out. I believe it should be an easy modification. You know before we just do guess work and design a artificial disc we should test it in a lab, computer models. I worked on many structural components for the Boeing Company doing Vibration loada and other computer models.
I suggest the Medical community go outside their walls , and go find consultants that could give you a perfect solution. There are lots of smart people who are real good structural Engineers.
I really don't like fusion method , unless if you can modify the fusion to give it a range of motion.
One must do a detailed Biomechanics study on computers first, address issues like fracture, fatigue, Vibration, mechanical shock or impulse analysis, followed by testing.
I believe it is almost Kindergarden for a person who knows ones subject.

microdiscectomy requires the surgeon to remove normal bone (lamina, facet joint), normal ligament and normal disc during the surgical exposure, DLDR doesnt do any of that. @Ara Deukmedjian wannabe, what exactly? I'm trying to be nothing more than a well-informed patient who takes everything found on the internet with a pinch of salt.
Saying your opinion is biased is a fact. Of course, you're biased it is your procedure, after all, but that doesn't dismiss the efficacy of the procedure.
I don't consider myself to be smarter than anyone, although, unlike you, I do know the difference between being smart and being knowledgeable.
I like to do my own research reading multiple studies on different procedures as well as testimonials from all over the internet, enough to know things aren't as bad as you describe them in the video. Yes, there are complications, but it's a very small percentage like you said, and the way you quickly dismissed artificial discs just to plug your own procedure was suspicious to me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm intrigued, and I'll definitely be looking for studies on your procedure.
The way you conduct yourself, on the other hand, leaves much to be desired. Saying, "For you, I'd recommend a procedure that doesn't work" isn't professional in the slightest, no wonder I had no clue I was talking to a doctor.
I just hope that if I'm convinced to take the Deuk Laser Disk Repair and I happen to come across you, you'll behave more professionally irl than on your TH-cam comment section.

They are a good treatment. Always take the disc replacement then a fusion, also check out what type they use as their is some truth that some do disconnect but some don't such as Prestige LP which is good, but the best discs are in Germany. Mobi -C has problems as it can give you to much motion but plz avoid a fusion, why u want to fuse the neck? its old school and they will put screws and rods and a cage in your dam neck. Too much hardware in your neck. ADR is just replacing the root cause which in this case is a disc.

The reason being is that there is more room in the spine because the ADR is typically much larger than the original disc after it’s been herniated/degenerated

Maybe the surgeon did not put it in correctly, these are very rare incidents but their are cases around the world of surgeons not correctly putting them in correctly due to lack of understanding and experience as its a new treatment. They are screwed in and the bone fuses together after a month or so to permanently hold it. They cant just pop out unless 1, the surgeon was incompetent or the patient did some heavy lifting or had another accident.

It's not that rare. Apparently, they don't have a "template" or "jig" to ensure centering I assumed, leaving it up to the surgeons skill. If you've worked on cars much, you know that standing like that to do something that needs that precision and delicate touch, is not easy. and the data is for a ADR is a fraction of what Acdf data is by every measure. I would love to not have any back pain anymore, but my surgeons have said I’m not viable for disc replacement or fusing. This is fantastically poor - "Look these artificial discs have already migrated" *shows a corresponding x-ray of the ACDF cages (which he bigged up prior)*. There are merits and pitfalls to all of the different surgical and nonsurgical interventions, each patient should have them discussed and then presented with the options to choose from. By dismissing different approaches shows that you do not have patient outcomes as your main reason for treatment.
