I'm in the process of doing this right now around my new apartment! Haha what a time to be an adult! Also working on my ho and o scale layouts for Christmas ;) great job with your track! You should check out etsy and see the fully floating track available!!
That's cool. I loved LEGO as a child. My Son then loved it, and added to the collection, and now my Grandson has it all, plus more.... A truly generational toy.
I think this is very practical. There is something satisfying about a toy train that takes some time to get around a large loop and this one is as large as possible within the room. You accomplish that here without it interfering with regular use of the room and you can easily reach any point of it for cleaning, adding accessories, etc (with a ladder, of course). I have some small lego train layouts on 4x8 or less platforms. It showcases the minifigs and buildings more than the trains because they can complete a loop in seconds. Even at that size, it's near impossible to reach the back of the layout for fine tuning or setting back up a fig that fell over (the room would have to be larger to allow space all the way around. I like to set up larger track layout on the floor for brief periods but I would like to build something like this... sidenote: if you were able to install all this without knocking anything else of the shelves in the process, that is pretty impressive
Oh my gosh Steph, this room is so amazing and I love that train and the track that you built for it, it does have a 90's vibe, my son has many lego things that he has built, but you take the prize. I love that the color matches the room perfectly and also that window is so amazing because from the outside you would never know what you have going on inside. Thanks for sharing and I giggled at the end when Vicki did her little "toot toot" so funny and totally goes with the feel of this video. Sending love and hugs, bye for now.
How did I miss this one?!?! I just reset my notifications to ALL! This room and collection has really progressed. So cool. Your digi-clouds made me smile too.
This is beautiful. I came here as was looking for ideas for a set along one or two walls . I was wanting ideas on auto direction change and crash prevention.
A really nice train and a really creative layout 👍 My train is an N scale GP7 with 5 wagons which goes round and round on my desk hauling peanuts, candies and other snacks. Lol. Cheers from Canada :-)
Woman you are just toooo cool for school. Absolutely fantastic. Great imagination. I have a mancave / basement / laundry room / furnace water heater area. Have had to come up with some ideas to make It pleasant to hang out down there . I eventually made my childhood dream of having a pool table game room bar area with a train set. A pain in the buttoxxxx. But i finally made a ceiling shelf track for my HO set with a NYC style setting. Came out pretty good but yours puts mine to shame . Very well done ladies. ave maria fabuuuuloso !!!
Not as exciting as a LEGO train track, but I have always wanted skylights! I have seen cool can-style skylights that seem to be DIY friendly to install. Thanks for the creative video!
thats amazing, I have been meaning to do this for several years, now you have given me the inspiration to actually do it.. lol and yes the LED ligths really make it pop. beautiful LEGO collections as well by the way! :) Thanks so much your an awesome Lady.
This is amazing, you rock~! I’m not handy whatsoever - if you were to charge somebody to do this, what would the ballpark be for parts and labor? Thanks!
Your video inspired us to build our own lego train set to go around our daughters bedroom. Btw for that kind of room, approximately how many lego tracks would you say you used to build your project?
That's awesome! Hmm...that's a good question. I believed I used the track that came with the disney lego train and bought 4 boxes for 18pc straight track. I got a non-Lego brand, but they worked well: amzn.to/3naTSsR
I am currently using this video to do it for three custom built locomotives (BNSF freight train, Amtrak Passenger train, Metra Commuter train) All inspired by the city of Chicago
I REALLY hope i find a girl who is as cool with this as you are. In my head, it was always this image of settling down with someone. Then I'd have the awkward conversation of "So... I know we just bought this house.... But can I please have toy trains going around the ceiling?"
What's your dream room or feature?

Love it!!
This is one of my childhood dreams too! I am making it happen in my basement family room right now!
As a lego train lover this was an enjoyable video. I'm so sad to admit you are WAY more handy than I. Great job!!!
That window is the perfect opportunity for a bridge build.

good job ! The green of the room is delightful and I'm glad you painted the rail shelf to match . best regards from Wales .
I bet the nibblets love visiting Aunt Steph! It was already an amazing room, but the track really raised, literally, the awesomeness to a new level.
Thanks! Yes, they love it :)

What train do you have
How do you dust all the items?
