I am very pleased and impressed with my Yamaha 7300 series timpani. As Mr. Tetzlaff stated, the tone of the Yamaha timpani is absolutely exceptional. These timpani can be logically and favorably compared to top-tier instruments, in my opinion. I've played on Ringer, Hinger, Clevelander, Lang, and Walter Light timpani and the way the Yamahas respond and sound is the same to my ears as these other instruments. Each of the other sets has their own voice, of course, but none of them out-performed the Yamahas I have now in any way I can think of.
