Pippen made one terrible choice, completely out of character. Too proud (ego) to admit the error by saying he’d do it again. He wouldn’t, knowing the damage to his reputation. The other players LOVED the guy. Jordan was right, it was a stain that never went away. A shame really.

As a former basketball and baseball player, people should give MJ an enormous amount of credit. Hitting a baseball is one of the most difficult things in sports. For someone to play extremely high-level baseball at 31 after not playing since 17 is an enormous accomplishment. It speaks to the level of his hand-eye coordination.
Also Doug is totally wrong. If not for the call in Game 5 of the 1994 ECSF vs the Knicks, the Bulls could have won the series. Pippen did have a great series regardless.
Doug is usually good… but not this time. No Scottie, no championships.

Why do people have to make things all or nothing? Pippen was a great teammate, but had some really bad moments. LeBron and Olajuwon quit on their teams at different times. Dr J lost his cool once against Boston. Doesn't mean they weren't great, but they're human and flawed. When you play a high level sport for 15 years you'll have a few regrettable episodes.
The host did say they talk to sonic but his version didn’t line up with the others so they didn’t include him to confuse to viewers

Pippen was the GREATEST teammate of all time and that's not just my opinion (Jordan and Rodman will back me up). It's like the old saying about Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers....Ginger had to dance WITH the greatest, only she had to do it backwards and in high heels while Fred lead the dance. Not easy. John Adams was the greatest Founding Father, but he wasnt the first president (Washington), the best orator/document writer (Jefferson), the best Constitution writer (Madison), or the best diplomat (Franklin). He was the 2nd best at all of those things during his time...and had to be 2nd best under the large shadows of those other men. Adams was well aware that he wasnt going to be remembered like the rest...and it bothered him. To this day there is no "Adams Monument" and Adams doesnt show up on money. That's Pippen. Even Jesus asked God "Why have you forsaken me".....doesnt wash away the good things he did and doesnt make him a "horrible son".

The big question is what did the Bulls do with all the money they made during both of these championship runs? Besides the two seasons where Jordan made $30m/p in 96-97 and 97-98, in his 14 years as a Bull he only made $4m twice. While Scottie agreed to his contract, he definitely out-performed his deal as well. The front office had every right to not renegotiate contracts. However, in view of their overwhelming success both on and off the court, it was a bad look to not allow players to enjoy the windfall they helped to create. This doesn't even take into consideration the appreciation of the Bulls value as a franchise.
