You would have unlocked like 40 new missions in your current tree had you formed England 😭You'd form a Norman version of England, not the Anglo-Saxon one 😆
Ante Bellum is a cool mod and Bulgaria was one of my favorites. The Angevin Empire was interesting mostly because of Eleonore of Aquitaine. She was a extremely competent queen and one of my favorite people in history. If she died early Richard and his brothers would've divided the kingdom even earlier and probably die in the prison of the holy Roman Emperor as she was the one who collected the taxes to free him from their clutches.
About the oppression of the Irish, there was a famous Pirate called Graine Mhaol who was born under the reign of Henyry the 8th. She ruled over much of Connaight and raided many English garrisons. Eventually her son was captured, so she went to Elizabeth the 1st to pay his ransom and had dinner with the queen; she continued to raid the english after that meeting. During the 1916 Rising, the leader of it Padraig mac Pearse wrote a song about her called "Oro se do bheatha abhaile", which means Oh how it is to be home. Which he whistled to his followers as they where all being executed.

Day 55??? Bro if you posted the same comment 10+ times, he has definitely read it already and either doesn’t want to do it or already has the video queued. Stop spamming please.
Hi Laith! I think Ante Bellum is suppose to be around the 11th century, but certainly earlier than 1444. So they remember the Battle of Hastings more vividly, because it was only a couple of decades ago. I hope I'm not speaking nonsense
If I remeber correctly the ingame start date is 1444 becasue editing the start date in the files means that they have to edit every single event to happen at the right times, but it does actually take place aroung the 11th century
But there are Mongol successor states and stuff though, the Mongol invasion didn't happen until the 13th century and it didn't properly split into all its successor states until the 14th century.
@@parmelion9771 there is historical president for it though as all the Welsh princes would trace their lineage to a Roman emperor to justify their power
I just failed at this, this evening. My second try I crossed by no cb Cornwall. Franica still killed me. Now I’m playing Bulgaria and France wants my capital Constantinople….they can’t core it I don’t think.
my favorite strategy for normandy is to get a fast claim on cornwall take cornwall, do the same with wales and you become on par with the english and thats how you easily destroy them
This is an older video. But my ex-fianceé was Irish (I'm American) and I didn't know all too much about it outside yanno England being a POS repressing the Irish. But I heard stories from her family etc about what exactly they did to them
I appreciate you mentioning the english colonisation of Ireland as being looked at as a footnote because it is definitely ignored/looked over by the majority or British people. For hundreds of years they controlled our land, destroyed our culture and language, killed our people and purposely starved us during the famine. And this problem still heavily exists in the north and the UK ignore the ongoing separation of catholics and protestants in Northern Ireland and the problem isn't getting any better.
@@Andrew-cv2uf Before the English showed up everyone spoke Irish, then they subjected the Irish people to hundreds of years of colonialism and making it not allowed to speak Irish and treating Irish people like they were scum and barely human. if you think that's not destroying language and culture, you're a fool.
is it a unpopular opinion to really dislike this mod? As a "alternate history", it's literally just if the 1200's remained spot on the same, with a couple of ideas nabbed from other time periods, like Lotharingia. Pretty much no original ideas outside of that.
It was orginally intended to take place during 11-12th century and was meant to be purely euro-centric. Due to the sheer amount of work that would have to be done (entire systems like technologies, ages and institutions overhauled), we just went with the 1444 start date. The mod later abandoned its euro-centric scope so this does not apply to regions outside of Europe, but Europe is stuck looking like 12th century and there is nothing we can do about it almost 4 years after the release.
Not that I want to start something but people should be able to separate history. No one hates Germany or Spain or Belgium anymore. Britain has done some terrible things but also brought some good things to the world but regardless of that it's not the current UK or it's people that did it.
It is day 138 since I asked you to do the challenge with Croatia in VIC 3 but in one of the videos, a good person named Andraip (Thanks for all the help) said it has a few flaws so it's time to correct them. So when you start playing as Croatia you have 15 years to get your independence, after that you cannot ally, get in a defensive pact, and you cannot be under any kind of protection and you must rival these powers as soon as possible: Austria, Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Ottomans, and all nations from the Italian boot. You also must embargo all those nations and cannot enter their custom union nor can they enter yours. You cannot be in an alliance with any of the top 10 nations, including a defensive pact custom union, or protectorate, but you can trade with them. AI must be put on the default settings in case it isn't. If you ally let's say Portugal, and later on they get into the top 10, you must break the alliance. You also must stay monarchy all the time. Form the Danubian state with Croatia following these rules. (FYI incase I didn't make it more specific, you cannot join anybody's custom union you must always at all times have your own market)

Ante Bellumn stated in the loading screen that it takes place in the 10-11th century and that the 1444 start date is not canon, just easier to code

Culture and lauguage has been not destroyed, It neglected. The Irish choose not to undo changes.

Destroyed is strong word use damaged the culture existed to the extant the scottish people use it and improve it.
