Look into some Gator Bags for the speakers. They have nice handles and a pocket to put power cord in.

I'm 73 years old, a little taller, 5' 8", about 190 pounds and I have absolutely no problem raising my SRXPs on stands. Fold the legs out on the stand, lay the stand on the floor perfectly aligned with the speaker laying on the floor, lift the bottom of the speaker up, slide the stand in the mount, then grab both handles and raise it up. I use the (Gas Assist) JBL stands, and you bring them down in the same way. I've been a professional musician on stage/DJ/sound engineer for 57 years, always running with JBLs! I have a long time musician/engineer who raves about QSCs, which I'm sure are great. I would really like to see a sound QSC vs JBL (SRXP) battle! Of course I'm very happy you got SRXPs, and they do kick ass!

Watched the video, wanted to say a few things...
The SRX line is the best line that public consumers can get without going to a Vertec series, or the A series. In fact, I know of three Vertec rigs, two being productions, and one being privately owned. They all have SRX powered subs, and SRX 815's as wedges/front fills. This should at least give you an idea that theses speakers satisfy the people that rely on sound to make a living.
The weight, hell yeah they're heavy. Welcome to the thick ass birch world lol.
The speaker bags: JBL does not make their speaker bags. Gator cases do. Gator has been super unreliable lately. As far as JBL goes, they're also in the middle of a BIG warehouse change along with re-negotiating contracts with large distributors. Not to be a jerk, but I'm sure a speaker bag is the least of their concern, but trust me..I get it.
Lastly, if anyone is thinking about switching to SRX, keep in mind these are animals. They're not like anything else really out there. I currently own 2 835P, 2 815P, 2 828P, and 4 818P. A friend of mine has a matching rig as well.. I have personally listened to different speakers, specifically QSC, and QSC has NOTHING on these speakers. Especially when it comes to the subs. Again, that's what a lot of these big rigs are running JBL. If you don't want to drink the JBL Kool-Aid, that's fine. The only thing that is comparable/better SOUND WISE are the RCF HDL line and their 8XXX subs..If money allowed, heck, I would run HDL's with SRX subs, but, ya can only do what you can only do.
    Good video.

My local live sound expert/dealer loves the SRX and VRX series. He compared the QSC K 12.2's to the PRX series and that the issue with QSC is that they don't really make a speaker that competes with the SRX or VRX. He did however say that the K12 sub is a lot better than the PRX sub, but that the SRX828P is a monster.

    • @BayardoRugama

If I was 20 years younger, 20 lbs lighter and a lot stronger, I would already own them. For now, I will keep my PRX's. Thanks for a great honest review of an awesome speaker from a company with horrible customer service--it's not a secret--we have all had bad experiences with them.

DJ Barr the best way to put really heavy speakers on a stand is to set up the stand as if you would before the speaker is placed on it. Then lie the speaker down on their side and then lie the stand down and line up the tophat/hole to the stand and raise the bottom of the speaker just enough off the floor to slide in the stand pole. this will have the speaker look as if it had been pushed over and the stand is still connected. Now the lift is easy, you grab the top handle and lift it up and place your other hand under the speaker and push the speaker up with 2 stand legs on the floor till it is vertical. The heavy duty stands are steel and work fine. Aluminium stands will bend the legs and as you know you need the steel stands as the SRX are 65 pounds.Keep up the good reviews and gig logs. Heavy af, but to be honest, I wanted to buy two more to have side by side because I like my shit loud and full. I always have an issue with them peaking, so I take my EV ETX 18 TO help with the lows and that seems to do the trick. But yo, keep on keepin on brotha! Much luv!

SRX series are the best speakers I had ever bought. About 3 months ago I bought 4 SRX815P and 2 SRX828SP and it is insane !!!
SRX815P are 1,500 Watts RMS (137db), and SRX828SP are 1,500 Watts RMS (141db)and like someone commented here, you will make the ladies quiver with the bass they produce....jajajajaja. I just did a 850 pax Wedding and everybody was blown away with the clarity, but most of all the power of these monsters. You have to get not 1 but 2 SRX828Sp, they are expensive but I compared them with, QSC, TURBOSOUND, DAS, and EV and there is no comparison whatsoever, and if you add a DBX Driverack PA2, you will be amaze of what you can do with these babies.
Great desition to go for JBL. By the way, I bought my speaker covers in Amazon and they came in pristine condition, and the SRX828SP covers have a hard grill cover.
Conclusion: The best speakers you can ever buy.
Great Videos BARR, love them all.
    Greatings from Guatemala City :)
p.s.: If you want the contact of the best sound engineer form JBL, he's station in Puerto Rico ( he was Shakira's sound engineer ) send me and email to info@lpliang.com and will gladly give you his info. He can help you setting these up and whatever JBL equipment you have.

The box chips easily bring a nice sharpie if you dont have covers. The box doest seems to be real wood, like the QSC Canadian birch wood. I use have JBL Tr225 that was real wood cab. it fell out of the van no scratch . SRX I bump the wall in the house and it chipped.

You could easily repair that faulty stitching with some nylon thread and it would be a lot easier than shipping them back.

Hey Barr - I'm a big fan. Quick question: I just got two of the SRX815P's (right before everything got shut down) but due to events getting cancelled/postponed left and right, haven't had a chance to use them yet. I got them mainly so that I can avoid bringing subs with me to gigs if possible. I only play at indoor venues...nothing outdoor. In your opinion, what is the max number of people (or better yet the max room capacity) that you'd feel comfortable using these for without subs. I only bring up room capacity cuz sometimes you'll have like 100 guests in a massive room that can fit like 250 so I like using the room capacity to gauge what setup to bring. Thanks man!

Great video, will be buying these within the next two years or so; 3000$ for two speakers is a gnarly expense, but if you're at the top of your game you want the best.
As for the ripped cases, that blows and I feel for you. The truth is though, most "help desk/ trouble shooting" aspects of any company are outsourced to some other continent and should never be reflective of the company overall. Secondly, just keep calling and emailing man, squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Thirdly, to corroborate with some of the comments below, there are gas assisted tripods out there that can lower almost to the floor for this reason exactly. Knew a guy with a some AKG tops that weighed in around 70 pounds each, he's the one that showed me the gator stands he had which sunk nearly horizontal to the floor so that you could raise your speaker a max of three feet and plop it on. Quality speakers will ALWAYS be heavier than knock off and cheap brands. Definitely invest in them but also great stands.
Based on this video I'll be buying a pair SRX 815p's. Thanks for filling in the info man you rock.

How are these compared to 835? I live on a farm, with 0 neighbours arround. Thinking of 815p and 818sp, or 835p and 828. Want them in my 100 square meters livingroom, but never heard anything of them live except for the 818sp subwoofers. Some input would be great! Thanks in advance G

DJ Barr, your JBLs are definitely are great speakers. However, you should really consider using lighter tops and a sub/s. It's all about longevity. You are young and have many years of the business ahead of you. Lighten you load today, and I promise your back will thank you in the future! Trust me, I have been a mobile dj for over 30 years. I'm not saying get rid of them, just have another option to choose from depending on you particular gig. Most of my mobiles I use 2 QSC's K10s and 1 KW181 sub. I'm sure you can build a similar system using JBLs. Keep up the good work.

Any update on the case situation? I'm not too confident in JBLs customer service. Have you seen the Yamaha DZR speakers? 2000w, wooden boxes and they get extremely loud. I recommend checking them out. The 15's are 3KG lighter than the SRX815p too.
