@@tessierpower I would say he was also popular enough outside of Quebec in Ontario. I remember hearing this song in Ottawa on Parliament Hill, and I was so mesmerized.
Roch Voisine is an enchanting artist. He’s very humble despite his great good looks and beautiful talent. I think he has the career that he wanted. Perhaps the glitz and nasty undercurrents of creatives in music turned him off. I set him up with a talent agent in Los Angeles for TV and film but I don’t think he reflecting wanted to live in LA. He would have had to relocate at that time. He is a great example of Québécois genius; a warm and keen intelligence bound by a sturdy and logical mind and body . These are characteristics of the Québécois. A beautiful soul. Easy to see.
I never understood the immense intensity and sheer depth of Roch Voisine’s lyrics to this song during my Ministry & Nine Inch Nails-phase 90’s. But NOW, as an adult, who’s pushing 40, and has lived a fair bit of life and has experienced the complexities about the in’s and out’s of human relationships, I must say that this is probably one of THE MOST IMPORTANT SONGS to branch out of the 90’s. This song is way too underrated. Those lyrics...geez. Intense! TRUTH!!! And to have, or to even find, a connection like that with a lover or a partner is pretty much one in a million. I’m lucky enough to have one. But we’re just lovers. We’ve known each other close to more than half our lives. She has her husband and her kids in the suburbs, and I have my life in the city... But every couple of years when we get together; to comfort each other, for passion, or sometimes to talk, or to listen when and if we feel that we just simply need to be heard, it’s beautiful. No one told any of us, back then in the 80’s and 90’s, that there are/were various types of relationships in the world which two people can have. I feel blessed to have her as my friend, and as my lover. And I feel doubly blessed to have this tune as mine and her song. ❤️🌪🔥🌊✨
This song provided a lot of comfort for me when I was little. I went through lots of night terrors, nightmares at age 3/4. My parents put a radio in my room to play at night and this song was quite popular on the station I listened to at the time. I’m disappointed he doesn’t get the airplay anymore even here in Canada. I like a lot of his other music from the ‘90s.
Jeremy Kershaw He's an amazing singer. Do you still have the tape of him? They play a great variety of music on boom 97.3 fm from the 70's, 80's & 90's. Great music never dies and never will.
True I think it's because at the beginning everyone's thought he is just good looking. After free year I saw great singer, written and his songs became so touching
ROCK HAS BEEN MY FAVORITE MALE SINGER FROM THE FIRST DAY I HEARD HIM SING ON CANADA DAY IN MONTREAL 1987......I THINK ALL WILL AGREE HE'S A GORGEOUS MAN BOTH INSIDE & OUTSIDE.....HE USES HIS VOICE TO EXPRESS WHAT HE FEELS IN HIS SOUL.....LUV U ROCK......Bob S. Fox, USA
You and I Have written the book, line by line. The few things it took, to survive, was your loving heart, and mine. Should you go, Remember these words, as they show, Just how much I care... Don't you know... I'll always be there. There when the world and its promise is failing. There when the frost of it's winter is cursing. There when the tears in your eyes keep on asking... I'll always be there. So Beautiful!
Ma préféré j adore cette chanson bravo a toi une très bonne chanson tres bien chanté avec une bonne tendresse bravo encore et bonne continuité pour tes chansons et videos💯💫✌👍
You quebecers really don't like being associated with Canada, eh? Take such offense when people say you are from CANADA. Quebec is a province of the country CANADA. Just like us Albertans are also CANADIAN.
I thought this came out in the late 1980's. When I first heard this song I thought it was Glass Tiger. My favorite song of his along with Kissing Rain. He is from Edmundston New Brunswick and moved to Quebec when he was 12

what a commitment that word "always" stands for... my view, is that it is a too easily used word, that falls in line with the saying....walk the walk.....and don't talk the talk.... words will never cut what actions do...... when i say it, i'll do my best to...always be there!!!

Never understood why he wasn’t more successful. Great voice.
He was massively successful in Europe in the 90's, would fill 100,000 audience stadiums.
That’s for sure he’s my favourite
He was in Quebec and in other french countries, agreed that his music was awesome
