- The CF-100 Canuck was the only Canadian designed and built fighter to be mass produced. Designed by Avro Canada in the late 1940s and entering service in the early 1950s.
There are many different paint schemes for this aircraft but I chose a basic generic version. I went with the 471 number designation as those numerals are fairly easy to paint by hand.
I decided that I would retire the FMA A-10 that I had, and use the electronics and motors in a new scratch build. I based the size of the new model around the ducted fan units and scaled everything based on them. All balsa construction, with 1/32 inch sheeting and dollar store silver tissue for covering. Some scrap clear plastic was used in my DIY vac former to create the canopy. I decided to leave the landing gear off due to the lack of a suitable runway in my area. Insignias were created on the computer and printed out, but I traced them and hand painted them on tissue to prevent smudging. All wood parts are traced from the printed templates and hand cut.
196g empty.
241g with battery.
Length: 24 inches.
Wing span: 23.25 inches, 24.75 inches including rocket pods.
Battery: 2S 7.4 800mAh 30C
Transmitter: Spektrum DX 6e
Great! The tune 'All Of Me' is an apposite choice for the build section.. As ever, a really impressive model and a beautifully done film. Thank you! ⭐👍
Thank you! Adding the music in the videos is one of the most enjoyable parts of the process.
Awesome job on an under appreciated and modeled aircraft. Best wishes on the maiden!
You do see these aircraft around Canada, usually up on pedestals and you're right they are under appreciated. I had a chance to sit in the cockpit of the one they have at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, before I had the idea to build a model. I should have taken more photos for reference! Thanks again FSM!
This is the correct way to R/C. A stunning effort, and I can't wait to see it fly!
Thanks! It's all about just having some fun.
Amazing job 👏

amazing!!!!
Thanks, had fun building this one!
Really appreciate the effort gone into that…but doesn’t it feel wrong belly landing something as nice as this?
I don't have a nice smooth runway near by, but there is lots of tall grass. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful work sir! Have you gotten to fly it yet?
Thank you! Not yet, I'll post a video if and when it flys.
@@punkworkschannel After all that work I definitely feel the IF in that statement!
My Dad flew these.
Cool!
When is the flight test scheduled?
I'll post a video when (and if) it flies.
Would you, could you share your plans...please.
Thanks for your interest! I haven't flown this model yet due to the winter weather (ironic), so I'm not sure if it even flies! As soon as I get some time I will try to add some building notes and dimensions and finalize the plans and make them available for download. I will try to let you know when they are ready.
Thank you. @@punkworkschannel
