Come on bro John John got 1 big tight carve, to cutback, and then full rotation on a 6 foot section to the flats inside the blast and rode away… 8.7, Jack got a big driving carve on the outside and then floated over a big inside section… 9.1… How does that make any sense. If it had been John John who did a big carve and then a float it would have been a 7.5-8 and you know it
Man that was an awesome finals day. Congrats to the winners and all the surfers for some epic surfing. This event and the commentary has been great, so hats off to WSL. 👌🔥✌️
Colapinto, Ewing and Robinson are EASILY the most overscored surfers I've ever seen in decades of watching pro surfing. It's baffling what the WSL are doing with them. And not just them being overscored, but whoever they're up against being UNDERSCORED. Jack's 9.10 was a fair(ish) score, that wave isn't the problem, it's the 8.17 that is cooked! I'm not a Brazilian fan, I don't favour any nation, but FOR TWO SEASONS the WSL have given really low scores for massive, critical, high risk airs to Italo, Medina etc and then given HUGE numbers for safer, lower risk airs to Griffin and Robbo especially. Ask yourself this - if Italo or JJF, or Medina had done the air that Jack did, would they drop an 8.17...? You know the answer to that, we all do. The score would drop somewhere between 6.5 and 7.5. And it makes a huge difference to be dishing out this unfair treatment over an entire season. The WSL wanna be careful with it IMO, they're losing credibility as an organization because of it, and they're losing it rapidly. Basically any heat with any one of them in is a skip.
What's happening with WSL judging??? AGAIN??? Respect is being lost big time for this entity... the whole world is commenting on this, after Medina's absurd, it's the beginning of a real end of appreciation for this league of surfing competition.
What an absolute heater of a final!..but I think there was a little hometown love on the scoring sheet 🤔
5:01:51 One of the best and most touching moments I've ever seen. What a professional and class act.
Hey judges.. that 4.33 on JJ first wave would have been you're wave of you're life...
John does 2 huge turns and a huge air and lands it.. yet gets a 8.7..
Jack does 1 turn and a floater, 9.1..
hmmmm

Did anyone notice the manma porpoise with her calf leading the pod through the lineup?
don't know about that score for Jack Robinson in the Quarterfinal...
Wow I guess taking off on the bomb sets just don't cut it for the judges on India Robinson and Gabie Bryant heat.
7:14:05 best moment 🐬🐬
Jack Rob overscored in a few of his heats
Thanks for the spoiler!! Appreciate it.

am I the only one wondering if Caity's board was maybe a little big for her? Feels like she had a really hard time putting it on rail.
Awesome final! Too bad I needed to mute from whiny Joe voice grrr...
That 10 point JJF ride at semis was like a Clay Marzo special !

Murazik Village
Judges were drunk on this one 🤣✌️
Jack ROBBERson
WSL Needs Jack to win because he makes a LOT of money for them when he wins a final. It’s that simple
care to explain how Jack makes them more money than JJF?
