    When he said you don’t need effects, I immediately liked the video

    Only 3 min of video, and I loved it. Thank u so much! ❤ I was passing by Times Square when I saw a brazilian artist playing rock with an amazing audience, and being a brazilian girl myself with a professional camera with me, I decided to recors them for free. The problem: I never recorded/edited a concert before. So I felt lost as I recorded and I now I am coming back home to edit... Wish me luck

    thanks! just got my first job and they want it done in 2 days and was kinda stressing about underperforming for them. but you saying you don't need effects calmed me down a whole lot clearing my mind, so now i can just focus. thanks

      Solid shot choice and sequencing will always be better than fancy effects! Good luck on the edit and congrats on the first job!

    Very helpful dude - been adding video to my portfolio for when I work with artists & this gave me good refreshers and new ways to work with footage

    Hey bro, I shot an event and I have so much footage. Do you ever run into that problem and how do you decide what to keep or where to start from?

    • @alexciprian
      @alexciprian  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I've ran into this problem a lot. You kinda just have to watch everything and take out all the good stuff. I just scrub through and try to do it quickly. Helps to cut the footage as soon as you can after you shoot it so you remember it better

    I need to edit 15 sec reel per band (5 bands) but they want live audio in but do i just sync the audio and just one verse and done??
    I had a friend and he did not film de band like the guitar or the bass guitar drum piano etc

    Alex...Regarding getting permission to use an audio track from the artist if the video footage is of them performing their music? Sorry for the extremely newbie question. I'm an entertainment photographer but get my feet wet with highlight videos. Thx!

      There’s a few ways you can go about it but I also think this advice might be a little dated with the advent of IG Reels/Tik Tik. Now you can just select the song in app and it works better for engagement so I don’t think there’s as big of a rule for using the artists music as long is it uploaded to those platforms. Hope that helps!!

      @@alexciprianThanks, Alex. What if you are editing with Premiere Pro for example and not attaching music from a social platform when you post? With music streamed to devices, what do you need to get from the artist so that your video isn’t flagged by TH-cam and they can use the video?

    • @alexciprian
      @alexciprian  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ahargusphoto I think it's just a matter of monetization on TH-cam so they should be fine with it because you will share whatever revenue you make. They may have an automatic content claim so then you'd have to reach out. How big are the artists you're working with?

    Hey man I really enjoyed this...I'm just an amateur, but we still want our concert videos to look good. This really helped. The thing I do that messes up all my concert videos is ...I use the music recorded from the concert and the sound sucks!...I record on my phone....I think this is a much better idea to use a soundtrack from the artist and just use the footage for visual effects and creating the story.

    • @alexciprian

      If you can get to the sound guy and ask him for a line out you can get really good live sound with a recorder. Just make sure you have a ton of different kinds of cables because soundboards have many different outputs. Best of luck man!!

      I usually just make concert highlight vids but haven't in a while because Covid slowed everything right down. Here's a link to a later one on my IG instagram.com/p/B_srn6hlyqh/?

    Why do you separate your audio and video? Do you re-sync after your edit is finished?

    • @alexciprian
      @alexciprian  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sync the audio in post before I start editing. The sound off the board in a live setting will always be better than what you get in camera
