Sadly, 4274 was scrapped in 1959. Also, it weighed something north of 600,000 lbs., meaning that it would snap the masts of 100-ton cranes like matchsticks. This is a lovely fantasy, but only that.
What a Great Rescue and Recovery...... A major undertaking... However, this proves that Man has created this magnificent machine and Man such as Mr. Gustave ( The Magnificent ) will bring it to its former glory... Rest assured that... The Golden hands of Mr. Gustave with his superior knowledge and imagination will bring this masterpiece of engineering back to life such as others that warranted restoration..... All The Very Best... Mr. Gustave... ( The Magnificent )...... George and Irene Stouraites.
That was a very satisfactory piece of engineering and the process was phenomenal to see, I hope to see the gratifying restoration of this magnificent locomotive and its tender. Brilliant.
Also Sacramento only has one and its in the rail museum in Old Sacramento. All the old railyards and maintenance facilities have been torn down and removed.
Successful recovery of the cab forward. Now it's on the path to restoration. However the consist is moving slowly due to the cab forward being in really bad shape. It'll take a while for the recovery consist to get to the workshop. Once it's there, restoration and repair work will commence.
WOW!!Excellent well planned Rescue operation of rare ex. SP AC-8 loco!!It is a miracle thta SW shunting loco can take such sharp curve!!!I love it!!I will wait for the restored loco!!All guiding wheel s are not spinning I hope that they will not become square form until they reach Repair shop!!
4274 is scrapped and 4294 is preserved at the CSRM with no plans to restore it. What I’ve heard from people in the museum, there was water left in the boiler when SP donated it to the CSRM. She’ll never run again
Here are some options for the cab forward steam locomotive after its restoration: 1:send the locomotive to a railroad museum 2:allow the locomotive to be back in service
2:54 Meanwhile, while the workers were getting the crane to rescue the cab forward before the number was revealed, an unknown person tagged the number 4252 on the back of the engines’ tender secretly.
You all know this is not real right ? You would need a lot more crane to pick that locomotive I own a heavy haul outfit worked with a lot of rigging and crane companies have moved rolling mills stamping presses and brakes over 200 K weights . Where are the air lines to the locomotive and did they lube it and fill the oil reservoir and check the pump ?
The entire channel seems to be Train Simulator. I do not think it aims to present itself as anything else. Thoughts of it being real would simply be assumptions on the part of many viewers.

It's not AC-12 4274 it's AC-11 4252!
@@maximomiglionico430 4274 was an AC-11..

The brave boy got scraped, but it will be good boy after cleaning
As someone who lives in Sacramento, this is freaking awesome.

such a tight fit you wouldnt catch me standing under that loco like those workers were if the wheels turn there is hope
Oh wow they rescued the southern pacific cab forward.
This make me want to get the game even more now.

It’s AC-11
@RandomRetroTrainGuy In the first video if You watch carefully it was AC-8.Find real photo of SP AC-8 4188,4198 or 4201.Let Gustavtime tell!!
Man, it's amazing you got that thing out of there! Restore this baby to SP 4274! Maybe make an abandoned BNSF/GECX C44-9W next!
Do the AC-9 next please
Ever thought of using a 35 ton Plymouth Locomotive it has a shorter wheelbase it can make that curve.
35 ton Plymouth Ml-8 can do it under 18° radius
Awesome Gustavtime and enjoying watching too ❤
The steam train: im not rolling
after: im rooooling
Cool, but 6:06 is one of the coolest your locomotive up the front nice painting it though
4274 and 4294 would make a nice doubleheader together.

@F40M07 I wouldn't say that. Maybe in the future, 4294 will come back. Btw it's a He.
@@sycho-blud does it really matter what pronouns a steam locomotive is given?!?!?
@F40M07 to me honestly, yes. I think trains being she's is just weird to me
I wished that all cab forwards were saved from scrap and bring them to Oregon.
How cool would it be if it actually happened

Alright you did it, yes!!!!!!!
This Cab Forward NEEDS to be 4274!!!!!! Do NOT go anywhere beyond that, Gustav! Thanks 😊
YES

Then my guess is this former SP cab forward must be an AC-11

I can't wait to see this beast back in operation. BTW, what about the other engines you found, any progress?
@matthewpowell2429 Right now we are preparing all the restorations!
Cool
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.
That’s not the end. There’s something or someone we don’t understand driving that tank car.
This is a definite cliffhanger though
can you do part 2 please 🙏 😢
Anyway.
How Big is The Southern Pacific Cab Forward Engine?
My question is how did a cab forward get in an ally way in the first place?
Good question
Maybe there used to be a switch to the tracks that’s why?
White knuckle drama !
You all do realize that this is a computer rendering, right? Like Charsbob said below, it was scrapped in 1959.
Oh my god!
Hey bystanders-look at the train ! You are not likely to see something like this again. . Drop the everyday and see .
0:55 I didn't know there's a switch on a railway to a random factory
How did it get between those buildings lol
5:06 You’ve damaged that buildings’ window ⚡️
I saw 4452 on the tender. Perhaps it was borrowed from a GS-4.
It’s actually 4252.
I want this to be real but the footage looks like a video game
Will it be in a museum?
Nahhh
Where will they restore it, will it be a.cosmetic restoration or will it run again?
@kevinkwiatkowski7197 Here the restoration th-cam.com/video/vzsQe7RsTVo/w-d-xo.html
Why is it an Alley way in the first place?
See. Now then when you rebuilt it?
Was that 100k on the train 11:02
Where was this? Google maps link?

curious what game this is or did you build something in a engine
Paint a smile face On the front
Where's the tender?
At first?
I have a cab forward
On tame
I meant tame
Lucky all the linkages and pistons still move on that steamer after sitting for 50 years. I thought it would get dropped onto one of those flatcars.
А на самом деле было такое? Что поезд рядом со зданием стоял?
Will that Kodachrome ever be restored
Yes ,soon

I had to give this a thumbs down as a REAL Rescue would've been so much better. This 'Animation' depicts what 'could've' happened, but not reality. 😞
