Someone in your marketing department messed up. That's not a Mudboss body (aka, EDM, or Eastern Dirt Modified). Thats more of an IMCA or USMTS modified body, which typically runs under a different class than Mudboss.
Race rules state that you have to use the Traxxas XL-5 brushed system with a 2s lipo. This has a brushless system which doesn't follow the rules... So now either the rules have to change or people will have to swap out the ESC and motor for the brushed version which I'm sure is being phased out for this new 2s system that they're putting in their cars.

Hmmm... wonder why the Salvas brothers weren't in on this after they spent a decade building a nationally known and run class called Mudboss? Trademarked or not, Traxxas stole the name instead of giving them any credit or royalties. On top of that, it looks nothing like a northeastern dirt modified. Which is what a Mudboss was created as. This new car doesn't even fit within the official rules for a Mudboss. It's a Midwest modified, B mod or an IMCA... not a Mudboss! Way to go Traxxas. You just alienated a good portion of the people that helped you get to where you are today. Big business at it's finest. Glad that I now support companies like Custom Works and Team GFRP instead of trying to make a piece of Tupperware that handles like a dump truck into a race car.

Well traxxas there's more than one dirt track race class, I challenge you to make a car of all classes of dirt track racing, let's do the late model and stock car classes. Come on traxxas make it happen.
I guess it would be cool if you had a track or live somewhere where there was a track. And had a bunch of friends that had one so you had more than one car doing laps. I'm not trying to dis it. But for an RC guy like myself this one would be lonely.
Yeah I had the same thoughts too but apparently, they didn't buy the rights for the Mudboss nameplate from the guy who made the original Mudboss kit and ended up getting in trouble so they changed the name to the "Modified"
@@BlazerDazered I think I read somewhere he didn't have the rights to the name and wasn't mad or gonna try to do anything to Traxxas. I think Traxxas was afraid of the backlash from the community and the rift it might cause at tracks. They're already stepping on the salvas toes as it is, and salvas has sold countless slashes for Traxxas so in my opinion they owed it to them to at the very least to change the name but the fact they even came out with the slash modified just shows you they only care about one thing, their bottom line. And they've shown time and time again they're will to step on the backs of the little guys to make sure they stay at the top.
I'm surprised they called it a mudboss, the mudboss class is based off of a big block modified yet in the video they show actual small block imca modifieds for comparison..
Just disappointed that they send these out to channels that don't know anything about dirt oval racing but I contact Traxxas about getting one of these since I've been around dirt oval racing for 40 years and I get turned down. I've been hoping someone would make a out of the box dirt oval car. Now I just have to hope I can get the money to get one of these, hopefully soon.
