Dealer quoted me $650 for the first service. I paid about $100 for the parts you outlined and did the work myself. Thank you for saving me $550! Liked and subbed.
Damn, I saw the video too late I already got the Dealer Tool from the UK, didn't know you could use an OBD2 scanner and a phone app. Way more easier than using my laptop. Thanks for the video!
Will you please show the exact app to download from tuneecu? Maybe include the widget picture? Then include which specific to download as there are several?
in UK first service is free you just pay for parts and sundry. Also if you don't get it serviced on 500 miles,Your warrentry is invalid and all other services on warranty must be serviced by dealer and book stamped by dealer
Pretty good video, really liked it. Good breakdown and very informative. Maybe I missed it, but another initial cost involved is the register the app. Or maybe I missed how you were able to do so without paying for it. In any case, still much cheaper than going to the dealership and a great investment for people who like to work on their bikes and cars:
Wish I had seen this before. Run in service £250! Just for a simple oil and filter change that`s outrageous. When I bought my CB1000R in 2015 first service was free. How times change.
They are crush washers. made from aluminum or copper and when you tighten the sump plug back up they deform slightly to seal. You can reuse them 2 or 3 times I always have but they are cheap to buy. Do not use regular steel washers as they will not crush and seal.
Well i got 4 year warranty on the bike when i dont let the yearly inspection get done in the dealership my warranty could be under fire if somethin is happening to the motor. Bouth my Speed Twin last year August and allready have 26000km on it some 16000miles
Good question. Here’s a good information for you. There is a Law called: Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which states “Dealerships and manufacturers cannot deny a warranty claim or void a warranty if the consumer went to an independent mechanic, a chain shop, or performed repairs or routine maintenance on their own.” Hope this helps.
@@TheManToys that is interesting, my uncle ran an Audi Q5 too far when a cam position sensor failed, pretty stupid really. Audi denied the warranty claim as he had the car serviced independently and he had receipts. The repair was over $10k so he got rid of the car. This is actually the reason why I did NOT extend the warranty on my Speed Twin, plus it allows me to modify the bike, like just about everything else I own! 👍 Thanks for the details on the law!
@@chriscarbaugh3936 I’m with you on not extending the warranty. I like to do my own service and upgrades. I haven’t had a bike break in the first year. Knock on wood.
Sadly, I am a technophobe, and I do not own a cellphone. So,it looks like my Speed Twin will be going to the dealer! I can easily do the service, but the spanner icon is beyond me!
The worst experience in connecting the NEXAS. don't buy it... don't use ..... it. The NEXAS you recommend can't connect to the Android. This is garbage again, don't spend your money on this garbage

you're absolutely right.

Sorry to hear that
Where do you download the app?
maybe this is a stupid question...but the washers? does it matter which ones? Thanks. Great video.
i might have reused the washers. it’s been awhile.

Warranty is great but they have to associate the damage or malfunction from DIY service. But doing service should be an owner's choice.
Nice vid mate, very informative
Thank you.
Will this reset tool work on a 24 Triumph 1200 Speedmaster?

Which tuneecu to download? There are several? Can you link the exact one?
Is it the obd2 elm327 (tuner for android) $3.49?
Google the Tuneecu. Download it from the website and not from google playstore.
Any reason why I can't find the app to download? Great video bro
look on google play store. if not on the website tuneecu.net
Nicely done 😎🍻
Thanks. I appreciate it.
Brilliant 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💯🇮🇹
Thanks.
You listed everything needed to do this in the Description except the oil plug washer. Genuine Triumph, or will a generic washer work?
when i did this at 600 miles i reused the original since i forgot. when i did the annual i bought the original washers from the dealer.
Does it have to be a triumph oil filter brand or can it be a different brand filter ?
you can use different ones. I just opted with the triumph.
Well usefull info bombo get my new bike tomorrow

not by law.
