I think its a combination of not having chemistry yet and teams adjusting to Luka's offense. They've seen what the Celtics did last playoffs and its no surprise that teams try to copy that defensive schematic or some semblance of it
@Bighomie4rmtheD Yes, Luka will be better for sure and so our offense. But after 3 years i don't understand what kind of offense Kidd runs. His playbook is full of iso after iso after iso after iso... Very predicable, we can't win the ring in this way. Boston humiliated us last year.
@@bepperappa1856 it should be clear to everybody that watches Mavericks games on a regular basis the Jason Kidd does not care about the beginning of the season lol. He just out there experimenting and trying stuff lol
Team seems tense now but they got a long time to learn to gel offensively with A+ talent. Really just need one of the 4-10 guys to hit open 3s at a higher clip.
Wasnt Luka the most blitzed player last year and one of, if not the most doubled as well? I expect once hes warmed up and at his numbers he was last year teams are going to be doubling him more often. Part of it could be last year he was amazing 1st quarter, so teams would then double to slow him down. But so far hes starting 1st quarters poorly.
the only way i see us improving the offense is by signing bench scorers, doncic won't change, his hero ball kills the offense sometimes, pj's scoring is very streaky it's not unusual for him to go 2 of 10, maybe sign someone like a grant or kuzma or bobby portis(he won't cost much)
The team don’t need Luka to be an all-nba offense of player. They need him to be a KAWHI level scorer and a Luka iso-playmaker. Y’all going to kill me now but a KAWHI level post defender that can guard on the perimeter.
I'm not gonna listen to the people freaking out over Kidd... we knew he was gonna experiment with lineups (and I trust him to find the right one for the playoffs). This slow start is purely on Luka having a rough stretch, which he is breaking out of. Teams are selling out to stop our PnR, and Luka will find the answer like always. Trust the process, this is a great roster.
My thought was top 5 O & D before the season. I see a path to that based on chemistry with Klay, Naji, Quentin and the bigs. Also the lower bench is not fully integrated. Look at season to date 3 pointers. Boston and Dallas have 3 players at the top of the list. Boston with Tatum leading White & Prichard have like 10 more each player than Dallas. Mavs big 3 need 1.2 more per game, or others.
The problem is Luka! Kyrie has been solid. Klay could be better if he got more touches. Luka is the one who’s been inefficient on offense and fails to move the ball.
I agree, Luka has played inefficiently for his standard. Good news is we play D and so we still win games. Also perspective, bad Luka is a 29-8-8 guy. How lucky are we Mavs fans!
Thru 8 games, we’re on pace to be 50-30. And that’s with poor offense to start. I trust Luka and Kai to correct the offense. Klay is an upgrade. NaJi is finding his spot now. I’m confident that Grimes will find his also. Overall, I’m super optimistic. Baring is major injury, team is legit
Lets overreact to everything! :) It's gonna be alright. Luka, Klay and Kyrie are going to klick at some point. The bigger the hole, the bigger the klick is going to be. :)
Luka is Luka. Kyrie can score, and can get assists, and Lively is on the way to being great. Klay can still play within a system, but the reality is, nobody else on the team is what a championship-calibre team would put out on the floor. We have 2 guys total that can create, and a bunch of guys that would get little if really any time at all on any of the teams that made the playoffs last year. There really isn't a way forward, Nelsons and now Nico have f'd our drafts for too many years.
Naji can create, but mostly for others. Klay, Grimes, Exum, and Washington are good to great spot up shooters, but can’t create. On the bright side, Dallas has two B+ tier centers, Kyrie is an A tier offensive player, and Luka is a top 2 offensive player. They have to play as a team to dominate, but even on off games he’s good enough to give them a chance to win.

Kidd doesn't coach offense, we are predicable despite one of the better back court of the history... That's a shame.
That's what shamgod is there for
The team hasn't even had enough time to gel man, give it some time

@@Bighomie4rmtheD And it's brutal because we will fight for an high PO seed until last game of the RS and go to PO with tired legs. Again.
i guess i'm the only one that likes the opening music...btw the offense and defense, but mostly the offense has a lot of problems
The season just started man. We won't really know what this team really is until around Christmas or New Year's.

I’m not worried. But the league looks really good this year so we can’t take too long to work out the kinks. Silly losses can add up quick.

Luka about to make Marshall a discount Luka on offense. Marshall needs to start going for every reb.
ITS SIMPLE, THEY NEED MORE TIME TO PLAY EITH EACH OTHER. LUKA JUST NEEDS HIS LEGS TO CATCH UP.

I’m sure you hear it all the time, and it’s not that big of a deal, but I miss the old music.
Who cares what you think, more on American

Who do you think would
be good additions to this team?
I haven’t seen a more ignorant comment ever on this channel 😂
