I’m a 21-year-old high school dropout who is eager to start a university program in Computer Science at the University of Toronto. I know that I need to meet certain prerequisites, specifically in precalculus, and I’m looking for advice on how to navigate this as a mature student.
Here’s a bit about my situation:
Current Status: I’m a high school dropout, but I’m highly motivated and committed to pursuing a career in Computer Science.
Prerequisites: I understand that I need to have a solid foundation in precalculus before I can start the program. I’ve been self-studying and using resources like Khan Academy, but I’m not sure if this will be sufficient.
Getting Into University: I’m wondering about the best approach to meet these requirements and eventually apply to a CS program. Do mature students typically have different pathways or additional resources available?
I would really appreciate any advice, personal experiences, or tips on how to make this transition smoothly. Specifically, I’m interested in:
