As someone who played only Ac4 growing up then got all the trophies for ac 6 within 5 days on release. I'm now on Silent line and i'm sorry boys. But without nostalgia tinted glasses. The music got way better in Master of Arena (Ac1 only has one track that stuck in my head) but 2 onwards is just something else entirely. 9ball is scary as fuck (because controlling the camera is ass) and he was a real asshole in master of arena. AC was a great series, FromSoftware did an awesome job. ...And then SEGA ruined it with AC4 and "primal armor." What is that even supposed to be?! Seriously, WTF. The games went from 'Physics = YES" to anime ninjas in shiny tin suits. Just like EVERY OTHER mecha game out there. That ruined the series for me.
4 and For Answer were okay in their own rights. I'm glad they're of a separate continuity from the older titles, though. And lest you think that 4 and For Answer are no longer relevant, 5 and Verdict Day are in the same continuity as 4, with NEXTs being the rough equivalent of LosTech. Also, I should point out that Sega never made the game: it was FromSoftware through and through. Sega merely published 4, and even then, only in North America. FromSoftware published its own game in Japan, and 505 Games published it in Europe. For Answer was published by Ubisoft everywhere *but* Japan. Fact is, FromSoftware was feeling experimental when they made 4 and For Answer--and it is, at least, semi-plausible. If you want to hate anyone, hate the developer, not the publisher.
armored core:for answer was and still is my favorite. for the simple facts that all forms of clumsiness was fixed and mobility was enhanced so that you felt like you had Human+ or op-intensify. Basically i believe armored core: for answer introduced mechanics that longtime armored core fans were complaining about. And that would be the lack of movement and how stiff your AC was. and since it has just been discovered, from software is making a new Armored Core game. I'm hoping they pair up with Agetec again, remove primal armor, bring back the orignial designs from ac3/sL/nexus/nineb/last raven, and make it badass on ps4/pc. can you imagine the sheer endless possibilites on pc? an armoed core game thats developed for pc would be crazy. of course i'd be using the traditional controller scheme if that were to happen.
Still one of the best fight songs.
