    Thanks for the link from the Bolt page. My buddy also had the Orange 500e. He got a great deal on a lease in 2015, and kept it for the term, putting 56K miles on it. At the time he got his, I leased a Smart Electric Drive. About the same size and range. It was an excellent commuter, and compared quite nicely to the Fiat 500e. The reason I did not keep the car at the end of lease was the buyout. $18,890 was too much, so it went back to the dealer, and I bought a used Prius.

    I’m excited for the new 500e. I really want one. And I live in San Jose CA so it will be perfect for a daily commuter

    Yes, that doesn't seem like a lot of range, but it's plenty for around town and typical commutes (which are less than 60 mile round trip). I had the chance to buy one at a good place a few years ago, but chose a (gas) VW Jetta instead. Big mistake! If I had the 500e I could be renting a gas guzzler when I need to drive long distance and still be saving money.

    I have the same model year in granite color. LOVE it. Just like the video said, limited range and no super charging. BUT it’s fun to drive and is maintenance free. If you want a car just tool around the city or if your commute to work is less than 20 miles this car is perfect for you.

    I am considering my friends 2018. It’s got 14k. The 11 grand is just too much, if he will go to $8000 I will seriously consider it. We get $3000 tax incentives. Making it $5000. Apparently he filled something out t get the tax incentives that usually requires buying from a dealer. It has a sunroof is a big benefit to me. I keep my cars for 15-20 years so I’m hoping I can do that with the 500e. Hopefully there will be affordable battery packs so it’s not a paper weight later. Rear seat space is biggest negative and low range. I gave two younger kids that will get tight over time.

    First gen Fiat 500 was great, but less dealers supporting Fiat. They'll test for battery condition for $600 to try to get replaced under warranty if they can say it doesn't qualify you're out $600

      Mine has been finicky, but never needed repairs or service Beyond alignment, 12-volt and tires, I had to reset the 12-volt

    Hello new to all of this? What set up do you use to charge your car with solar panel?

    • @SpinnerEV
      @SpinnerEV  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The roof of our house is covered with solar panels that were professionally installed. They provide electricity for our entire house, including the cars when they’re plugged in. Yes, there’s a payment to cover the solar installation, but it covers our electricity and fuel bills for our vehicles, and is less than those when combined.

    Love it. 2015 I bought used, just started to lose some range, 85k miles, mostly freeway.

      I have a 2018 version of this car. When driving freeway only at or above 65. You’re looking at about 65 or 70 miles tops. But if your commute is shorter than that, round-trip, the car is worth buying.

      @fscarpine maybe mine was degraded when I got it but I wouldn't count on over 55 miles, prob closer to 50

    Hello, I own a 2016 500e and am also thinking of buying a Bolt (if I can find one). I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on how the 500e compares to the Bolt. Not the obvious range difference but more like build quality, visibility, seat comfort, maneuverability etc… Thanks

    • @SpinnerEV
      @SpinnerEV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We enjoyed the 500e so much that we eagerly got a second EV. We went with the Bolt just after the price drop, so it was a good value, and had the ability to fast charge. We had a long road trip coming up and I wanted to take an EV in the trip, something the Fiat couldn’t do. The Bolt is now my daily driver, and the 500e is my wife’s. She prefers the smaller car and says it’s fun to drive. I prefer having a little more room, a smoother ride, and a bit more tech, so it works out for us. Both cars suit our individual and family needs.

      @@SpinnerEV Hey thank you for your reply. I am a big fan of the Fiat but can see all the advantages that the Bolt offers. And the price is really attractive. Unfortunately there are none on the lot to test drive so the purchase would be a leap of faith. Again assuming I can find one to buy. I look forward to more of your videos 🙂

    what does it ride like, road noises sound rattles . do you have a spare tire ?

    • @SpinnerEV
      @SpinnerEV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It rides like expected for a car it’s size. It is isn’t harsh, but you feel the road. It corners well. No rattles that we EV noticed.
