I love how shes able to control how fast or slow her vibrato is. On some her songs like who you are and mama knows best, her vibrato is faster. But on this song is more even and controlled. I love it.
Danny Ordonez I think she actually knows how to control it how. Before she didn’t. And it was all over the place. Still loved her tho. She’s grown and matured so much as a singer, you can literally hear it in the evolution of her albums in chronological order from Who You Are to ROSE. Amazing.
That performance is pretty much a Master Class in stage performance, and also a Master Class in Musical Arrangement. The reason Purple Rain is typically a song very few people cover is because Prince's performances of it were so utterly definitive. It took a performer of Jessie J's caliber, who figured out exactly where to stay true to Prince and where to differentiate and put her stamp on it. And as a result, where there used to only be ONE person you could really imagine doing this song... now there are two. It's amazing, and shows what a true world class talent she is.
I've just recently watched Killing Me Softly (Jesse J.) and I've watched it several times. Of course, this being YT, I kept seeing Purple Rain on the coming lists. I was very hesitant to watch because of your comment that I just read. I did not think anyone else could do justice to Prince. OMG was I wrong!! Your comment was beautiful, 100% genuine and true!! I'm still a huge Morissette Amon fan and to me, there's no one, on this planet today, who has a voice to compare. I did comment on one reaction of Killing Me Softly that Jesse J. was extremely underrated and her voice is incredible. I absolutely love this cover of Prince's iconic song and I will watch it many times, by many reactors and just know that she's right up there 2nd to Morissette!! (sorry, but that's the best I can, for now lol)!!! (edit And I'm sorry it's taken me so long to really listen to this cover. Her vocals are just outstanding and the added whistle note (which Morissette can do effortlessly, was WOW!!! If you're willing, though, give Morissette a listen (Akin Ka Na Lang).
3 really... Watch Adam Sandler's version. He performed this great song for Howard Stern's birthday. These are the only 3 people I can listen to singing this song.

Saw Jessie at Glastonbury when she was in a foot brace covered in mud. I walked past with a bottle of rum in my hand and could not believe how someone could sing like that. She literally stopped me in my tracks. Breathtaking. And not only that. She is a lovely woman. 👍🏻

This performance was her best in the show I think, not necessarily in vocal terms, but like as a whole package. It's just so awesome to watch. She won the contest with this performance
Sorry, but she didn't win contest with this performance. Yes, she won the contest. Her performance of purple rain was on episode 6 of the Singer. She didn't win the episode. Hua Chenyu won the episode with nunchucks. While it was also a great performance. For me, Jessie J's Purple Rain was hands down the best performance of the episode. One of my favourite for the whole season.

I love the way she can give songs her own style but not in a way that disrespects the original. I feel like people like Christina Aguilera tend to do a cover in their own style but in a way that I would be embarrassed for the original artist to hear it. It’s definitely a skill.

When I saw this notification, I’m not even kidding, I stopped everything. Wives were momentarily ignored, cats went unfed, the whole nine yards. I’ve seen other coaches react to this performance, but one of the main reasons I love watching you is that you break down the technicality into words that I, who can’t carry a tune in a bucket if her life depended on it, can understand. You speak so beautifully about the layers of musicality and performance and it’s just so educational and entertaining. Like, I’d love to pick your brain over a glass of wine, because you make this world approachable and accessible even though I’m not an artist, and man, is that an awesome thing.

Wow I watch this program as the best competition program I have ever seen in my life I would recommend watching it, Consists of 13 episodes in which 7 singers compete and each episode is a loser who gets the lowest vote and comes a new singer, It has fantastic voices and wonderful competition and I challenge any international singer can risk his career in this program because competitors are not ordinary They are talented and have wonderful voices, They can destroy the fame of any singer if he is only fake and lucky and his voice is not that great to be a world star But ❤️ Jessie J ❤️ has proved to be highly confident, with a wonderful spirit and a distinctly golden real voice, ٍshe is the Queen 👑
