I remember my wife got me the box set as a stocking stuffer on the first christmas we shared as bf and gf . And i was so impressed that she would know this was favorite show or at least liked it because our taste in movies and shows are polar opposite( i finally got her into anime). Its only until a couple years ago did i find out she had conspired with my brother and my had said to the shield because he was a huge fan and knew he could take it whenever he wanted . And turns out its currently in a shelf in his house.
The thing i love about Claudette's moment at the elevator is that Dutch snaps her out of it not by being her subordinate, or trying to reason with her or save his job. He just speaks to her as her friend. However everything else works out is tomorrow's problem but right now i need to make sure my friend is okay.
I love Oz too, although it probably messed up my world view a little bit :) Shawn Ryan gave a shout out in another interview for Oz paving the way for The Sopranos (which had to play a part in The Shield getting greenlit).
One of the greatest shows of all-time. It was really cool to see the connection the cast had to one another and they genuinely liked each other. I had no idea about the friend and family dynamics outside of the show either
Best show of all time, bar none. I cannot tell you how much in love with the show that I am. I didn’t find it until season four was started but after watching the very first episode of season one, I immediately binged every episode up until I was caught up.
This show has made so much of an impact on me that I haven't really seen anything that comes close. This includes Breaking Bad, The Wire, Halt and Catch Fire - I call those shows my 2nd tier favorite shows. The Shield just hit so differently. I understand how the cast can't seem to move on from being part of this impossibly great work of television. This show for some reason really made me know the characters like nothing I've ever watched
At the end of the program, they cry .. And I cry))). This is one of the best series I have ever seen. Thank you from all the viewers to the whole team for this miracle!
Out of all the programs iv watched, this is the very best. I'm still amazed at the amount of people who have not even heard of it even though its 20 years old now. Iv just watched it again for the first time in 12 years
This show knocked me right out. The grittiest most raw in your face thing I think I had ever seen. From the end of that first episode I knew this was going to be different. Love seeing this, them talking about those days.
The Shield was one of two shows I have ever watched (I am 50) where nearly every episode's writing was perfect. I remember so many times exclaiming at the end of an episode how they nailed the ended. It made me eager to see the next episode. It also, in a time before streaming, was a show that I knew religiously, the continuity of the characters' stories, everything. For them to make a weekly show where we all devoured each subplot and each relationship was artistic. The only other show that I thought compared to it on acting and writing was the HBO show it competed against for Emmy's and Golden Globes. I for one give the edge to The Shield.
You have to be talking about the Wire right? At the time to preferred the Shield but the Wire holds up better over time. Both were groundbreaking and still revurb to this day but the Shield was a bomb and the Wire was a slow burn. Both in they're approach to story telling and the fan appreciation.
This is such an amazing reunion. Hands down one of the best TV shows of all time. Embedded in my top 10 forever. The Shield, NYPD Blue, and Homicide: Life on The Street were the finest police dramas of all time. Thanks for the upload!
Don't forget Hill Street Blues. In The Heat Of The Night was Damn good too. I can't stand most cop shows because they're too generic with cookie cutter characters and storylines but these shows were special.
You said it. And i remember the first episode, I fell in love with it. It seems like most other shows you have to watch 4-5 episodes just to figure out who’s who. But in The Shield, everyone just fell in place and everything just meshed right away in the pilot. Amazing show.
Man I loved this show. Immensely. Broke my heart when Shane dropped that grenade in on Lem. That was the absolute hardest scene to watch and digest. Poor Lem was so trusting, scared and hurt in that scene and then Shane just plopped it in there.
Même le producteur de cette série m'a fait pleurer, c'est de loin la meilleure séries dramatiquo-policière de tous les temps... Comment décrire ce qu'ils nous ont apporté pendant sept ans de notre vie, c'est impossible. Merci à vous !
Anthony Anderson gave me nightmares. Dude stepped up his acting and the intro was always so sick how they would play a solid 5-10 mins and then after something crazy happened…” JUST ANOTHER DAYYYYYYY”
I loved the intro after the crazy stuff too! In another interview Shawn Ryan said they had fifteen thousand dollars to make an intro for the pilot and he decided to try and do a cheap one in-house so he could use the money for something else. So he asked the editor for some simple text but moving kind of jangly on the screen. He went to dinner and by the time he came back, the editor had put together the intro graphic using a font called Crack House.
Fantastic watch for Shield fans, thankyou! The first TV series to really hit me hard and sucked me in, my first binge watch on DVD from memory, and something I will do again, but to be honest I'm a little scared to go through all that again!! My first TV rollercoaster ride.
Probably the best show I’ve ever seen. I keep wanting to rewatch but it’s so bloody emotionally draining when everything starts falling apart (which is a good thing as what other show does that as well as The Shield).
This is my FAVOURITE TV series of all time and it never got the love it deserved. At the time a lot of folks dismissed it because 'The Wire' was so popular, so hopefully now it will get its due.

The Shield was a massive part of my life for 7 years and a pretty big part ever since. When I get asked about Shield vs Sopranos I give this personal anecdote. Back in Autumn 2009 my wife was pregnant with our first child. I was nervous. And in order to have something that I could judge according to time and let the pregnancy go quicker, I decided in about October 2009 to watch all the Sopranos and all Shield. Alternately. Sopranos one day. Shield the next. That lasted until about April. I always remember the difference. When I'd finished watching an episode of The Shield, I was always blown away, and whilst I loved Sopranos, I always felt like I wanted to watch Sopranos just so I could get to the next episode of The Shield. When I'd finished watching a Sopranos episode I was always on a high knowing The Shield was next. Sopranos I LOVED to watch. Shield I HAD to watch.
In my opinion I prefer the sopranos because I found it more consistent but the shield at its best was far better than the sopranos at its best and the ending was much much better probably my favourite ending to a tv show ever.
I love both shows and first watched them in real time, but it got harder for me to watch The Sopranos the more we got to know the characters. There was some of that for The Shield too, but there was also some hope there that I didn't see on The Sopranos. I recently re-watched both of them and appreciated The Sopranos alot more now that I could more objectively view the characters. But The Shield still hit me so hard and reminded me of how much of an impact it had made on my life.
Whenever the best dramas are mentioned - Sopranos, Breaking Bad, 24 etc , The Shield will always be at the top. It is unmatched. There had never been anything like it and there has not been anything remotely like it since
I was with some friends an one of them said hey you ever seen the shield, I was like I heard of it but never seen it, saw the pilot an was hooked. My friend only had 6 seasons the final season had just come on dvd, i saw the last season at fye an surprised my friends with it 😂an we built a crazy friendship because of this show lol im forever grateful for that
The Shield was the best show ever and I’m not a TV watcher. All of these actors were phenomenal and they really had something special. I have the entire series on DVD.
The most underrated show ever. Shame that Michael Jace did what he did, he could been with them or at least talked about because he had the most interesting arc on the show. Also Forest Whitaker, the man really elevated the level of acting. Love The Shield forever.
That’s true, Michael Jace really fucked up doing his wife like that which makes him a piece of shit and he most definitely deserves to be where he is now for the next 35 years but admittedly he was really good in the shield despite what people say.
Agreed with everything you said except for the first sentence. The Shield is one of the most revered shows ever made, it is literally the antithesis of underrated. It is beloved, and its influence on the medium isn't lost on anyone lol
Thank you Shawn and thank you to this incredible cast for this wonderful, phenomenal, show they all worked to put together! I’ve watched the show 3 times all the way through - when it aired was the first time, and I just watched it through recently for the first time in nearly a decade. Man does this show hit differently as you watch it at different points in your life. The emotional roller coaster was already a hard hitter when I watched it for the first time in my teens, but after my third time in my 30s as a street cop of 11 years, with a wife and baby boy? Man did Shane’s ending arc hit with so much more of an emotional gut punch. Incredible writing, incredible show. Stupidly underrated, and I’d throw it against any of the Goliath’s like Sopranos and Breaking Bad
I haven’t watched tv for 10 years. My brother and niece just passed away in December and it absolutely has destroyed me. I try to take my mind off of it so I asked my sister for her Hulu password so I could watch something. Mind you I’ve always been wanting to watch the shield because I used to watch clips of it on TH-cam just like sopranos and the wire. So I’m on S4 E9 and it’s the best show I have ever watched. I’ve already been watching clips farther up to see what happens I couldn’t help myself. I’ve seen what happens to Vic and Shane and Lem. I can understand know how Vic feels losing everything. I know what that feels like. I can feel his pain. I wish I could’ve died with my brother and niece because I’m already dead. I go to sleep every night wishing I don’t wake up anymore. Over 20 years later hands down best show ever thank you Shawn Ryan 🙏🏽 n the whole Shield cast you guys were absolutely phenomenal bringing those characters n world to life blessed to have watched that masterpiece great reunion friends that became family,Mackey will always the villian who I love
Best show ever! Truly my favorite. Just finished watching it from beginning to end for the 7th or 8th time.
The thing i love about Claudette's moment at the elevator is that Dutch snaps her out of it not by being her subordinate, or trying to reason with her or save his job. He just speaks to her as her friend. However everything else works out is tomorrow's problem but right now i need to make sure my friend is okay.
This show and OZ are my favorite shows.. it's hard to find anything better.
The Wire is good
I love Oz too, although it probably messed up my world view a little bit :) Shawn Ryan gave a shout out in another interview for Oz paving the way for The Sopranos (which had to play a part in The Shield getting greenlit).
One of the greatest shows of all-time. It was really cool to see the connection the cast had to one another and they genuinely liked each other. I had no idea about the friend and family dynamics outside of the show either
This was ABSOLUTELY 1 OF THE BEST SHOWS EVER AMAZING SHOW
Best show of all time, bar none. I cannot tell you how much in love with the show that I am. I didn’t find it until season four was started but after watching the very first episode of season one, I immediately binged every episode up until I was caught up.
Thank you, Shawn Ryan for confirming there were promos where FX called the show "Rampart." I thought I might have dreamed that, lol.
Iv just watched it again for the first time in 12 years
That was beautiful to watch. Lucky, lucky people. Must have been a great experience.
Series of my childhood, thank u guys for making such a good series. All the best to this people from Serbia.
This show knocked me right out. The grittiest most raw in your face thing I think I had ever seen. From the end of that first episode I knew this was going to be different. Love seeing this, them talking about those days.
This was such a revolutionary show - bring it back!
quite possibly the best underrated show theres ever going to be
thank you all for the best series ever
Outstanding show and still the best series finale of any show I've ever seen
Both in they're approach to story telling and the fan appreciation.
what is the other one?
@@ivanangeli Sopranos.
@@DrtyALGreen Have you seen the 2000 show, The Corner? That was so good and predated The Wire.
Counterpoint: Deus ex machina "Radiohead"
This is such an amazing reunion. Hands down one of the best TV shows of all time. Embedded in my top 10 forever. The Shield, NYPD Blue, and Homicide: Life on The Street were the finest police dramas of all time. Thanks for the upload!
Don't forget Hill Street Blues. In The Heat Of The Night was Damn good too. I can't stand most cop shows because they're too generic with cookie cutter characters and storylines but these shows were special.
They all aged well
Walt Goggins hair seems to have grown back…🤔🤔.
I’m guessing hair plugs?
@@danielc7131 He had his hair done between season 6 and 7!
Not Julian 😬😬😬😬
@@danielc7131 my thoughts exactly I’m rewatching now and Shane’s hair was wearing thin back then
Not exactly. Vic hasn't missed a meal.
The Shield is to this day THE BEST cop show ever!! LOVE IT!❤️🔥
You said it.
Thank you from Italy guys. I loved this series, best of all times
This show is flipping AMAZING currently rewatching it now on prime now this is what you call a 5 ⭐️ series.
Thanks for sharing. This is one of my favorite shows of all time.
I love these guys. I'm watching it again (#3) on Prime.
Greatest crime drama of all time, I’ll forever miss it but am so glad it’s a thing. cheers
I'm going through the seasons now. This was awesome. Very entertaining and some very tender moments. Bless this cast.
Même le producteur de cette série m'a fait pleurer, c'est de loin la meilleure séries dramatiquo-policière de tous les temps... Comment décrire ce qu'ils nous ont apporté pendant sept ans de notre vie, c'est impossible. Merci à vous !
abaaa abaaaa abaaaa abbaaaa Oui
I could not ❤this enough!! When you create brilliance.... you Love all those that helped create it!!!
Amazing. I just started watching it a few weeks ago banging out episodes... Love the show!
If this is your first time…you’re lucky.
I wish I can feel the this thrill again
Fantastic watch for Shield fans, thankyou! The first TV series to really hit me hard and sucked me in, my first binge watch on DVD from memory, and something I will do again, but to be honest I'm a little scared to go through all that again!! My first TV rollercoaster ride.
The stand out was Walter Goggins, after the shoe, he was on every show and movie.
Probably the best show I’ve ever seen. I keep wanting to rewatch but it’s so bloody emotionally draining when everything starts falling apart (which is a good thing as what other show does that as well as The Shield).
Yeah I just re-watched it over the past month. Still my favorite show.
I like watching things like this for a show that was with you for so long, it really feels like me and old friends reuniting.
The Shield and The Wire are hands down 1 & 1A of best TV shows ever. From the 1st episodes to the last episodes they all tied together.
The Sopranos needs to factor in somewhere
Just now watching THE SHIELD in 2022.. best show I've ever seen!! Season 8 please
Hearing Michael Chickliss talk about his favorite moment was great. He looks like Vic’s more sensitive hippy brother in this, it’s awesome!
Just found this thanks for uploading it. Makes me want to watch the whole series again.
My all time favorite show. I love this reunion.
This is my FAVOURITE TV series of all time and it never got the love it deserved. At the time a lot of folks dismissed it because 'The Wire' was so popular, so hopefully now it will get its due.
Best show ever
Watched it during a very special time of my life. It really marked me. Love it. Lemonhead the best !
Pala 3° vez estou assistindo a série inteira... E a emoção é a mesma como se não houvesse assistido nenhuma. Tenho todos DVDs guardados relíquias !!!
Vocês são simplesmente os melhores reunidos na melhor série do mundo... De todos os tempos.
❤🔥💀👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🇧🇷
such a great show, you guys gel so well together no wonder you make such a great show. thank you for the great entertainment, its the most underrated show ever
They dont make shows like this anymore..They should bring it back 👍
the shield 2
Whenever the best dramas are mentioned - Sopranos, Breaking Bad, 24 etc , The Shield will always be at the top. It is unmatched. There had never been anything like it and there has not been anything remotely like it since
Down right one of the best TV series ever made. Amazing writing and plots with a great, amazing crew of actors.
I was with some friends an one of them said hey you ever seen the shield, I was like I heard of it but never seen it, saw the pilot an was hooked. My friend only had 6 seasons the final season had just come on dvd, i saw the last season at fye an surprised my friends with it 😂an we built a crazy friendship because of this show lol im forever grateful for that
Cant believe I never head or seen this reunion before now. The Shield is my favorite show and Ryan's story at the end is the perfect ending for this.
I watched The Shield when it first aired and, coincidentally, I am currently lockdown-binge-rewatching it.
@@Jaydot34. what happened? What did he do, are you referring to his show character or real life??
@@demsux25 shot his wife to death
@@demsux25 He shot his wife.
Working in Angel, another of my favorite shows from my teen years, what a surprise, theres coherence in everything.
And thank goodness the Angel showrunners let Shawn Ryan get out of his contract early so he could be the showrunner for The Shield.
Thank you for this upload! It was awesome!
Fantastic show! There were so many episodes that were gut wrenching, but I always had to come back for more.
This is an absolute 'murderers row' of acting talent; there isn't a weak link here at all.
This was phenomenal to watch thanks for uploading it. I just finished watching the show and it sucks that it’s over but the ending was insane.
Considering the network didn’t even want him at first it’s amazing how well Walton has done for himself
This still to this day is my fav show of all time, and this shit was a joy to watch 🙏🏼
I’m so lost and broken. I can’t believe this happened. This can’t be real. I’ve lost myself in this show and it has helped me. Thank you for helping me ❤️
