  • The Ford Ranger has become a popular choice for overland travel, providing a respectable payload (1,600 pounds) with the efficient and rewarding ecoboost 4 cylinder.
    ARB engineers developed a wide range of accessories for the Ranger, including a suspension system, bull (roo) bar, lights, side rails, rear bumper, drawers, snorkel, and more.

    We drove the truck into the wilds of Arizona to test these new accessories.
    Editor's Note: This video was produced by Overland International as an editorial feature, and is not a sponsored or paid promotion. Dynamic segments shot on a closed course.

    The Ranger is the #2 selling UTE in Aus (Hilux #1). Its no surprise that ARB has a lot of kit for it ready to go. I just wish we got their diesel variant here in the states, makes it a much longer ranged overlander.

      The diesel is nice (we drove one in Africa). I must admit that the little EcoBoost exceeded my expectations.

      The 2lt bi turbo is rubbish here in Australia. At least off road anyway. The 3.2lt 5 cylinder has much more useable torque.
      My mates and I go bush regularly and preferably without those.

    Did you only do the front with the OME suspension in this video or did you do the both front and rear?

    When are you guys going to make a front bumper that’s more of a PreRunner style. I’m loving the rear bumper but that front bumper is huge!

      We cannot speak for ARB, but I doubt that would be a good fit for them. Their bumpers are designed for animal strike protection, and to fit a winch. Best of luck in your bumper search.

      I bought a TJM Chaser front bar for my ranger last year. Might be more what you're looking for.

    Would you consider the rock sliders a true rock slider ?

    • @ExpeditionPortal
      @ExpeditionPortal  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would not. They can support the weight of the vehicle (i.e. jacking) but not the weight of the vehicle coming down hard on a rock. The wall thickness is too thin for impact protection.
      Works fine sliding lightly on rocks, earthen berms, etc.
