This is a VERY good app. My only concern is that once they have a desired user base they’ll start slapping a subscription on us :(
I would be 100% cool with paying for the app as that’s what you should do for people developing on it, I just don’t like subscribe/renting software.

where is the different between a subscription or paying something any year for a new version ... sure in that case you can decide to don't upgrade and remain on the old version until it works ....but, if you are a programmer how you an survive with just some euro at the beginning and then nothing else for the future? The result is that the app you boutght died in a few month...... I dont' have any issue on subscription method when the product, or until the product, is in continual improvement

@@claudioferroni9810 I’m fine for paying for new features and upgrades. But once you made a product and don’t work on it… then what are you paying for?
With your iPad you pay for it and that’s it. Once Apple releases enough new features for you to update you buy a new one. Not sure why that shouldn’t be the case for software. I mean until relatively recently it was like that.
Personally I would be happy to pay procreate for the new features. As their business mode relies on constantly selling to new customers. But if their update doesn’t excite me, I want my old version to work.

Yeah really interesting. I was without my computer this week so I was trying to get along with illustrator on the iPad for client work. It was ok but felt awkward compared to something like procreate. Some projects simply had to wait. Now I love full fat illustrator on my computer but maybe this’ll work as my iPad vector option? I’ll give it a go. Being able to export .ai files is an absolute gem. I’d be interested to see how it handles eps. (Illustrator on iPad struggled with this). I’m always playing with stroke options so it’ll be interesting to see what is possible there.

I have had vectornator from the beginning. And what is supprizing to me is that just about all vector applications has tried to approached vector art like flash has. I was introduced to vector art years ago, by using flash before it was bought by adobe. (Macromedia flash) and i always felt its core tools outshine everyone eleses in terms of ease of use and versatility. The ability to fill any shape or turn a line into a cure or sharp edge with one tool. Or slicing through objects with other vector shapes. Even cleaning up extra lines is simpler in flash. And yes tracing has even been a feature for years.
Vectornator is a great application but i wonder why most other illustration apps mimic illustrator or look to illustrator as a guide instead of flash(or shall i say animator).
Am i the only one who thinks flash's approach to illustration is easier than some of the traditional illustration applications?
Sorry to go left field on your review. Nice review by the way.

If you're a hobbyist, that does art sometimes and don't feel like spending a large amount for something you won't be doing ALL the time, I say get the:
iPad 8th gen for $330USD which got a permanent price drop from $380USD.
It's on sale right now for $300
There's also the 128gb option for $430USD which is on sale for $395USD
If you intend to at some point, get serious about art and start using you're iPad for more professional uses then don't get this one, save for the Air 4
If you're a bit more serious about it but you still want a more budget option and you also want some more of the premium features, like the bigger 10.9inch display, apple pencil 2 which has the magnet attachment and charging as well as a digital button on the side and more layers on procreate.
Then I suggest the iPad Air 4 for $600USD which is on sale for $560USD and has 64gb storage
There's also the $750USD option which is on sale for $700USD and has 256gb storage.
I personally believe that 64gb is more than enough, as procreate files, and really just art files in general are very small so as long as you're not downloading movies, or large files on your iPad it will work. If you're a bit worried still, then I suggest you try to stay away from downloading things on your iPad that you can also get on your phone, try to keep most things on your phone.
Only download iPad apps or art apps on your iPad and keep other stuff on your phone
I personally don't suggest the iPad Pro especially not the Ipad pro 11 2020 considering the Air 4 or iPad pro 11 2018 at 10.9 inches and with similar features is basically the same thing but if you don't want to make any compromises and you intend to use the iPad not just for art but also, as you're computer then I suggest the iPad pro 12.9 (not the 11). The Pro 12.9 starts at $1000USD for 128gb and is on sale for $950USD
to repeat don't get the iPad pro 11 2020, instead get either the Air 4 or the pro 11 2018 (the renewed one)
If you want to use your iPad like a computer get the iPad pro 12.9 2020
MY PERSONAL SUGGESTION THOUGH OUT OF ALL OF THEM is the: iPad Air 4
