2016 RUHS Marching Band & Color Guard "Spectacular" encore of “The Fight” Tucson, AZ 11/22/16.

2016 Rincon University High School Marching Band Tucson, AZ, under the direction of Mr. Jeff Marchant encore performance of “The Fight.” **Band director Jeff Marchant put it so well after the AzMBA Championships “…And dealing with disappointment is as important a lesson for our members to learn as is winning…Don't get me wrong, I believe in winning, but I define winning slightly differently than many people. Our band won this season in so many ways, and how we handle this situation is one more chance for us to show our winning spirit and attitude. Remember, ‘It ain't about how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can GET hit and keep moving forward...How much you can take, and keep moving forward.’"
2016 RUHS Marching Band Major Accomplishments:
1. AzMBA “Mountain March” Invitational at Sabino HS Tucson, AZ. 10/1/16. RUHS earned first place in the 4A division scoring 67.650, and received caption awards in General Effect, Music, Visual and Auxiliary.
2. ABODA Canyon Del Oro Marching Band Spectacular, Oro Valley, AZ. 10/8/16. RUHS earned a rating of "Excellent" in Div. 1, and received caption awards in Music Performance, Visual Performance, General Effect, Auxiliary and Percussion.
3. Fall Band Camp10/12/16-10/14/16. RUHS remained in Tucson, no out of state travel or completions! Only practice…...
4. ABODA “Show of Shows” Marching Band Invitational at Flowing Wells HS Tucson, AZ. 10/15/16. RUHS earned a rating of "Excellent" in Div.1, and received caption awards in Music Performance, Visual Performance, General Effect, Auxiliary and Percussion.
5. Arizona Daily Star 10/16/16 feature article “Tucson’s Rincon/University Has Reason To Toot Its Own Horns”.
6. ABODA University of Arizona Band Day 10/22/16. RUHS received a rating of "Superior w/distinction."
7. ABODA "March the Ridge” Invitational at Ironwood Ridge HS Oro Valley, AZ. 10/29/16. RUHS received the award of "Superior w/Distinction" in Div.1, and received caption awards in Music Performance, Visual Performance, General Effect, Auxiliary and Percussion.
8. ABODA State Marching Festival at Dobson High School, Mesa, AZ. 11/5/16. In Division 1-B, RUHS received a rating of "Superior w/Distinction" and received caption award in General Effects. This qualified the RUHS for the ABODA AZ. State Marching Band Championship on 11/12/16.
9. ABODA Arizona State Marching Championship at Glendale Community College Glendale, AZ. 11/12/16. RUHS proudly placed 5th in Div. 1 with a score of 85.944. RUHS was the only marching band from Tucson.
10. AzMBA State Championship at Perry HS Gilbert, AZ. 11/19/16. RUHS placed 2nd in Div. 4A with a score of 88.725 and received caption awards in General Effect and Auxiliary. Nothing bad about 2nd place by a mere .625 point!

This has to be the best show I have ever seen. You guys are so amazing I look up to you guys. Out of all the bands shows this you, your guys was my favorite. I seriously thought you guys should of won aboda competition but my opinion doesn't really matter cause I'm not a judge.

definite inspiration from 2008 Bluecoats especially in the Boxer obviously. saw this at FW show of shows and the hit of the boxer was so amazing as was the rest of the show. i can't imagine how nice it must be to be in a band who are so confident and proud of themselves. at FW i don't really think anyone is really happy with the band :/
