  • Drawing from the bands 21 years’ experience, this album is set to solidify Darkest Hour’s legacy as a metal power house. Raw as all hell, musically complex, melodic, yet cutting with razor blade precision, Darkest Hour’s 9th full length record, "Godless Prophets and the Migrant Flora" is fierce and hungry for blood.

"The Flesh & The Flowers of Death"
    There is no versus
    There is no together
    A perverse salvation
    Romanticized failure
    Bloodlust incarnate
    Bloodlust eternal
The final breath of your enemy
    The savage recital
    Of war hymns forgotten
    These war pigs for profit
    This is the pioneer’s harvest
This land is nothing is no one’s and has never been
    Bloodlust surrounding
    Bloodlust within
    The flesh and the flowers
Of death bringing glory to cowards
    These are the tyrants
    The lovers of power
    We are loyal to none
I have drank their blood and I have lived a thousand lives
    Now I am never forever
And the moon will continue to rise
A curse on the light of the sun
    All hail the darkness
    All hail the unholy

The intro straight up sounds like a song from the Black Dahlia Murder! I love it!

Hell yeah dude, had the same thought about most of this song. The melodeath is strong on this one.

I personally enjoyed the eternal return, human romance and the self titled album, really digging the new album, enjoying the thrashy hardcore vibe, I've been listening since so sedated so secure and happy to see this band still release quality music,

Such a great song, probably my fav of the album. Great 'death-ish' vibe and that solo section is out of this world.

That could be because Kris Norris had involvement in this song especially the solo section, I feel some of the solo has Norris's Scandinavian shreding style.

Kris actually wrote pretty much all the guitar for this album, in fact i think he had a hand in writing /everything/

The riffs kind of sound like Black dahlia Murders and Cradle of Filth. Heavy shit indeed.

I wonder if the title of this song is a nod to Death's song "The Flesh & The Power It Holds."
