I LOVE the gospel music that CeCe Winans shares. She said that she wanted us to say something, and I've wondered about her preaching and being a pastor in light of 1 Timothy 2:12. It reads: And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. What do we do with that verse CeCe in light of you teaching your congregation and being in authority over the men there? I e-mailed an administrator on your staff to confirm that you were indeed in authority, and they gladly and proudly told me that you were. I LOVE that you stand for holiness and Jesus, but what do I do with this verse?
How does she stand for Righteousness when she is breaking Gods Holy Commandments, Righteousness is Keeping Gods Commandments, then she says out of her own mouth that God Never changes, ok In Deuteronomy 22:5 that the Woman shall not wear that which pertaineth to a man, she’s wearing pants ( Crossdressing ) which is an Abomination to the Lord thy God, then in 1 Timothy 2:12 it teaches that I suffer not a Woman to teach, you people in these Christianity churches talk about God but don’t follow anything and I mean nothing that it teaches.

I have much respect for CeCe. When her good friend Whitney Houston asked her to be a part of the song “I’m Every Woman”, she declined the offer. When she mentioned why she couldn’t do the song, she quoted the first line “I can cast a spell…”. So many of us loved that song without even considering the lyrics were not of God. CeCe is the real deal and her walk and talk match up. Thank you CeCe for showing us your unwavering faith.
I am certain that CeCe is not perfect just as I am not, or anyone else. However, I believe she represents Christ well. Their is a authenticity about her that you don't see much today, and the spirit identifies with the spirit.
I believe that church leaders especially pastors are called and held to a higher standard. There are pastors whom we have never seen caught up in scandal or foolishness. I can't help but wonder why so many others are.
What I do know for certain is that all of this messiness does not draw people to Christ but discourages them. Jeremiah 23:1-6 "Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says the LORD. Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: “You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them".
I think sometimes people can be so abundantly blessed, that they are blessed right out of their HOLINESS. Holiness does not mean perfection, but it does mean what 1st Peter 1:13-25 says: It calls all people of faith to live a life of holiness. Literally, holy living means that the Christian lives a life that is set apart, reserved to give glory to God. It is a life of discipline, focus, and attention to matters of righteous living.

I met this lady in Washington DC when I was a young teacher, and I have been saying for years to anyone that would listen to me that she lives what she sings about and of course now what she preaches about. The realness and anointing I felt while sitting and talking with her touched my heart even to this day. May God continue to use her to do his will.

Cece once said she has been presented with numerous offers from the industry, but turned them down. One of those offers was from Whitney Houston to appear in her "Im Every Woman" video. She turned it down because she said the lyrics of the song were not inline with the Word of God. She didn't cut Whitney off, but simply stood her ground for her faith - and I thank God for keeping my sister in Christ on solid ground.
