Thanks for video and to Stompin'Tom for singing about Saint John.I was born in N.S.but lived my whole life in this beautiful historic city.Tom Conners is a few years older than I but I do remember that he was here.He used to sing with a friend[just in his home]I believe on Germain St.I can't remember the man's name now.He made a song called"Lester the Lobster".If anyone knows his name I would very much appreciate them posting it! Thanks so much again for the memories! Home is where the heart is!
I love it as well.hard to believe he was 11YRS old when he wrote that.the 11YRS olds today can hardly add 2 plus 2 without help. kids today are on their computer and cell phones and couldn't think up such a hit.
I went to Reversing Falls in Saint John on Saturday, August 21, 1965. I stayed at the Hillcrest Motel in what was then Lancaster, but has since been annexed by Saint John.
Yes..Stevedore Steve did "Lester the Lobster"and he was Toms friend,he played with him in S.J. Steve passed away in 2016.His wife still shops at the old City Market in the uptown of Saint John.Steve real name "Steve Foote they lived on Germain St.
Patrick Bartlett I'm an American and I love Stompin Tom. I almost burst with Canadian patriotism listening to him as funny as that sounds coming from an American but he was a true treasure and you guys have alot to be proud of with Stompin Tom Connors.🇨🇦
That's a song about my grandmother who was engaged to this man way back in new Brunswick
