It's kinda crazy how the crowds turn on somebody when they are dominant for tooo long like MKLeo. I understand it. Leo has been winning for so long that people just want ANYBODY else to win for once. Im new to the scene though so I am still in the honeymoon phase and am just blown away by every Leo victory

i think it was a safe play by elegant to throw them out so that at least you get free percent rather than risk getting a grab bc its really hard to play neutral when they know what ur going for lmao.

Yeah but the zero to death is damn near impossible to pull off at top level especially since pro players have mastered DI Over the years.
Leo was definitely managing his lower % on purpose. He would get hit up to 15-20% by fireballs each stock then never get hit by one again... until his next stock. Crazy crazy stuff.

Looking beyond the game itself, Leo beat Elegant mentally. You can see the tense emotions in Elegant's eyes and the erratic cyclones. The second Elegant switched to Sora, the set was over

@@Exceed_HS Not really Leo has Luigi as a losing matchup (I do think he'd put it at even now). Man was struggling against Waka the Luigi at SWT while using Byleth too. Elegant just spammed Up-b way too much and got punished for it.
Ngl, I thought it was going to be close considering their previous matches and Game 1 confirmed that. He should've stayed Luigi, even if its a losing matchup Sora does horrible against Byleth.

I think the only hope is Proto. We know Leo won't go Byleth vs MinMin. He'll go Joker. So Proto would go Lucina. Its possible for Proto to win in this scenario.
Mkleo is that boss fight where the boss is easy starting out but then when you get the boss down to low health he gets crazy hard and can wreck you.

You can make like half the characters in this game secondaries..there's very few very hard characters. Even then he plays Luigi so he could probably secondary him. We've seen people do it before

Elegant really gave into Leo's hype as well as skill in this set. This is the same man that would play an upwards of 3 to 5 games against one of the best Richter players around in T3 dome with Luigi and would even cop a set off of him here and there; that's why Leo shook his head because he knew in his mind that Elegant had given up. I can see him securing a summit spot playing a part in why he just went yolo game 3, but he took him to a last stock situation game 2 so he could've at least risked it all with his main.
Yeah the last two games I feel like he gave Leo way to much respect , he should’ve just sticked with Luigi , would’ve been cool to see a game 5 :/
The way MKleo was playing with constant pressure, nair to auto cancel to forward tilt etc. That range against Luigi’s stats just don’t allow him to punish these attacks. Very minimal risk for Byleth, it was just outside the realm of possibility for any Luigi player to win. There’s just no openings, anything else would be just too telegraphed or just useless. It is what it is.

I noticed that Elegant struggled to get around Byleth's fair a lot in this set. He would frequently try to roll behind him but Leo would just f tilt or nair him in the process. He would also try using fireballs to beat out the move but the disjoint would prevail and stuff out the move. Personally, I think dash back pivot grab or Parrying would be the choice for luigi, as grab has superb range and parrying gives frame advantage of course, like if he aligns it right he could get an up b. Well we will see what he does at Summit 4!!!

Because Luigi’s air speed and ground speed is bad, rolling is his fastest option.
Anytime you corner a Luigi, you can almost always expect a roll
Ok so Leo the best player in the world no questions asked. It doesn't mean he the best at everything in the game, BUT spacing, for spacing it doesn't get better than Leo, this guy has smash split at Pixel level.
Winning game 1 isn't something to be happy about when you go against Leo. It seems that he uses it to pick up on habits and adapts accordingly to game 2 and 3.

Get-up attack is slow and can be punished quite hard if you know what you're doing. When your opponent is Leo's Byleth, get-up attack is a free punish cause he can just outspace it and put you back in disadvantage.

Well it depends for the person. I know fatality was trying sora because he hoped it would help for maister/g&w. In this case it just looked like a hailmary though

Because they think he’ll be like a normal broken dlc and be easily capable to bail them out. But Sora’s more honest than that, you need to get in a rhythm with him and he’s not an easy secondary, certainly not so early on.
