A breakdown of the sweetest cPDH decks from Riches to Rags 4, held on April 7th, 2024! You can find all the decklists from the event here: topdeck.gg/bracket/y3QonwiX1R...
That cycle storm list is SO SWEET! I’ve been trying to extrapolate the 60 card list to PDH and haven’t had much success, so I am soooo happy seeing someone was able to do it.
Ive been working on and indulging patrician deck for a bit now. super cool to see it show up on here. very strong commander. also synergizes well with food tokens.
Hey I'm the DRC pilot! You're right in thinking the deck cant go infinite but the storm spells can get very out of hand very quickly when everything in the deck cost around 2. During the even i was able to empty the warrens to make 20 11s and in a different game grapeshot for 11 all pointing at my opponents face killing him and clearing the board at the same time. She played like a very Jack of all trades master of none commander.
Damn cant believe i missed this event as a Philly local. Absolutely blown away by that Fleshformer deck, also intrigued that colorless decks are being innovated on
There will definitely be more Riches to Rags Pauper EDH events in the Philadelphia area! I believe there tend to be 2-3 of them a year. Not sure when the next one will be, but keep your eyes peeled!
Yeah! It's a very powerful deck for sure, but one that feels like you almost have to specialize in it, because of how intricate it is. Cool to see two people pick it up for the event, though!
Thanks so much! There unfortunately isn't anything like Skullcrack or Sulfuric Vortex in the format to shut off lifegain altogether. The two best plans I can think of to circumvent people gaining life are either to go infinite with a combo of some kind, or get them with commander damage. But if you let me know what sorts of decks you're playing, I might be able to come up with other solutions, too!
@@ankylosaurmtg hey thanks for the response!! I play manly this UB Baleful Strix deck: archidekt /decks/6027003/ub_commander In my pod we like grinder games so we dont allow infinite combos and my commander is hard to go in for damage What I did was to put some lifegain myself, if you cant beat em join em xd PS: The deck is with 99 cards because im already testing the leaked mh3 scurrilous sentry

Alright I need to know. Why fleshformer for the 5c deck as commander. Aren’t other creatures like the 5c artifact creatures more efficient and more castable? Maybe I’m missing something obvious…. Help me out. Great breakdown video.
My understanding is, the deck needs a 5-color commander primarily for the color identity, and often won't bother casting the commander at all during the course of a game. But there are certain lines (for instance, making infinite mana with Ilysian Caryatid and Freed from the Real) where you can activate Fleshformer enough times to kill every creature your opponents control, and then take out one player with commander damage now that your Fleshformer is enormous. Plus if you have WUBRG lying around, you can always activate to shoot down a Malcolm or something, which isn't nothing.
Personally, I really enjoy having non-legendary commanders in the command zone. When your whole deck is commons, an uncommon creature feels like it has almost legendary status to me (flavor-wise, I mean). It also opens up a ton of options for gameplay that I love!

Awesome! Yeah, your curve is so low, the storm cards seem like a really good fit for a big, game-changing turn. Thanks for your comment!
This is awesome ur the pauper master!
Thank you for more content
You're welcome -- thanks for watching!

Blaze Commando too?? All my favorite cards making an appearance today! Thanks Ank, great video as always!
Thanks so much!
This fleshformer deck looks sick as fuck.
I’m stunned that this event popped in my hometown and I missed it

TESHAR being one of the few commanders that had multiples is surprising!

El final de Valiant Hearts.
Hey! Love your videos!
In my pod there is too many lifegain there is any card UB or BR that can help me against this?

@@ankylosaurmtg just realized the deck also plays path of ancestry so being a human probably also has minor upside…?
@@maarten0104 I think the deck would probably play Path of Ancestry just as a 5-color land, but yes, the minor upside is relevant for sure!
I wish that only legendary creatures were legal comlmanders
Why?

I feel the opposite, actually its what drew me to the format.
