    Playing around with a different mixing method with LSDJ. This song came about as a result. I'm very happy with it, (though I wanted to have more change-ups in the progression and arps but ran out of time). Little post aside from a multi band compressor and some EQ. Made a mistake shooting the video so I had to re-sync the song as well as the little oscilloscope (which I forgot to hook up to the pocket so it's actually just reacting to the speakers which were a few frames behind the audio so I had to edit the video so that the left side of it is a few frames ahead of the right side :-( doh!). Also then realized I had mistakenly altered something crucial in the song and had to re-record and re-upload so the weekly beats audio and YT audio is the same but the video is slightly different in the notes displayed on the right side of the tracker - there are some discrepancies because i had to update the audio but didn't have time to reshoot a video. Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy!

      It’s been fun to write on this little device - been using a flash cart with (only a few) minimal issues and it’s just as reliable as a DMG. Tried loading the patched ROM and .sav on the pocket itself and that has been a different story however with some other people confirming a few problems - maybe that will change when the Analogue OS is released officially. The screen is exceptional though

    I'd love to get into the world of creating music, and I think this would be a dope place to start. Can you let me know possibly which channels on TH-cam might be able to help me get started in learning how to code /program chiptunes such as this? I did buy a transparent smoke model AP recently so I'm covered as far as that goes. Everything else though is an absolute foreign language to me lol

    • @DisposablePlanet
      @DisposablePlanet  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can start by getting a copy of the ROM of Little Sound DJ which you can run on your AP and then checking out tutorials on TH-cam. I recommend starting with DEFENSE MECHANISM’s channel as he has some amazing LSDJ content for learners of all skill levels. Pain Perdu and LSDJguides has good stuff as well. Also I would first reccomend some basic music tutorials as well if this is your first time making music. It doesn’t hurt to familiarize yourself with a piano roll in a DAW or keyboard IRL either. Just know that beginning to learn electronic music composition with a music tracker as opposed to a DAW is going to be a steep learning curve but not impossible. IMHO the best thing for learning music is an actual instrument however, then translating what you pick up to the computer

    Great track! I just got my Analogue Pocket recently and have been inspired to finally learn LSDJ.
    Question for you if you have a moment, can you say some things about how you make a snare here? Seems like there are all kinds of methodologies. I really like the way yours sounds, and it looks like it uses the wave channel. Do you use a kit? Is it something that you used LSDJ Patcher to patch in?

    • @DisposablePlanet
      @DisposablePlanet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for listening! Regarding the snare in this track I actually didn’t patch in a snare but used the stock snare from the built in 909 kit. It’s doubled in the note column and then in the noise channel I have a bit of white noise with a volume envelope in table I think layered over it. That gives the snare a bit of extra punch in the highs. iirc the white noise alternates from a short burst to a longer crash at different parts of the song which gives some variety. Hope this helps. Th exact .sav file for this song and the other songs on this EP are available on Bandcamp with the album in case you want to dig deep into the sound design

      thank you! yeah its running in GBC mode here off of a flash cart. However now you can install cores that let you run roms off of the microsd card without patching them so it's easier. imho i can't tell any difference in sound between GB mode and GBC mode - though the sample playback sounds better atm on a real DMG.
