    Great video. Nice honest and uncomplicated explanation. I'm a city girl in NYC, but I'm planning on moving to California, starting a backyard farm, and adding chickens for eggs. Your simple and honest video has inspired and motivated me. Thank you.

    Thanks for the video. We have been trying to sell eggs for about a year. Living in a small town everyone raises chickens. Your tips on using pictures of the chicken environment is something I hadn't thought of and will certainty help.

      We had a bit of a bumpy start selling. But once we got a couple reliable customers we stopped advertising. We now only have 5 clients but they consistently buy large quantities so it works. I wish you luck finding the right client that works for you.

      Look for a local bakery, restaurant or Hotel or a business that uses lots of egg.

      @@olumideiluyomade7613A few days ago a small restaurant called us needing 75 dozen eggs a week. Currently we only have 21 hens, however we intend to have 300 egg laying hens soon and another 200 pullet chicks, this is besides rooster. To supply 1 small restaurant at 75 dozen eggs a week we need 300 hens who lay 150 eggs a year if we only get 50% eggs a year.

    Give your birds Moringa. Egg production will increase as well as their general health. Add ACV and Garlic and you will never have Bird Flu. Moringa also adds to their increased calcium so that you don't need to use egg shells.

    Do you have recipes for 16 and 20 percent layer feeds that you use?

      Hello thanks for asking. We stopped mixing our own feed since we found an awesome local mill. So we do not have a recipe that we have been using.

    FYI we have been shopping for egg cartons for a while now. The ones we have been using are almost $1 each now. This is the best deal we have been able to find. Just ordered a 250 pack. amzn.to/40UcCfZ

    Would you indicate sharing where you get your egg cartons from? I pay 79 cents each for cartons at Tractor Supply, which is very costly.

      Not regularly. But we have done this for friends and families wanting to start a flock. We recently started a new flock of dual purpose birds (layers and meat) and are incubating about 20 eggs. Should be hatching a week from today. Thanks

    I am trying to figure out how to sell my eggs at the end of my driveway in a self serve pick up method and can't figure out about payments to me. So many do not use cash and I would not want to use paypal. What to do what to do?

      We use Venmo a lot. But our neighbors use a tool box that is bolted down with a drop hole on the top. Sure some take products without paying but they seem to do well enough to do it every year. We have thought about putting a mini fridge out and stocking it and let people buy them on the honor system but have not tried it yet.

    • @roothomestead4504
      @roothomestead4504  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We used to have honor boxes out at auto stores for treats for a little biz for my kids. We noticed that people would take products then pay later. Funny enough we had less theft than expected.
