Hi Nick! I've also had some success with setting up the way you normally do with wrapping one set and tucking in the other. In this case, if you wrapped the yellow/black and tucked in the yellow/red it works just fine. :) love your vids bud.
Nick. I have watched several of your vids. I'm interested in making varying length coral snake whips. How does one calculate strand lengths for varying size whips? Thanks.
I know this is an old video and you have changed some of the ways you do your plaiting, but, what if you did like the way you did the fire whip and drop two at a time? You could drop two reds, then two blacks, then two reds then two blacks and get a lot further down the whip before losing the pattern. Just an idea from someone just starting, but having the benefit of watching more recent videos that you have made. Thank you for these videos. You have a very good demeanor for instructional videos.
How long would the strands need to be for a 7' whip. In that coral snake pattern? Or I could put the question this way. What lengths and colors would You make for the 7' whip in the Coral snake pattern?
that is one question I had also. FOR PARACORD, the formula is 1.8 times length. or 2 ti mes 1.8 if the strands are doubled. So.... 7 times 1.8, or 14 times 1.8. It is better to make them longer rather than too short
Hi Jacob, it sure is! Just not with paracord though, because it would be too thick of a whip if it were 32 plait. you find a lot of 32 plait leather whips since leather (especially kangaroo leather) can be cut to extremely narrow strands.
The witch had a cat And a very tall hat And long ginger hair Which she wore in a plait........not a plate. Willy Shakespeare pronounced it...and spelt it as "plat" But it is pronounced as "plate" in the USA Both are right... Great video by the way!!
Dude, you have the most calming voice and demeanor on youtube.

How long should the color strands be if I make an off colored handle? The whole whip will be 8 ft.
If you dont wax a nylon whip will it efect how long the whip last or how loud it cracks
