@@atree3 may I ask you another question please....should you make your quilting stitches as even as possible and your stitching lines as straight as possible or am I being too strict with myself? Your work is absolutely beautiful. I am just about finished my first attempt but still have a lot to learn! 🤗

Hi MArgaret. What was the significance of the women measuring the quilts?
What is that that they quilt with in their hand? It looks like they push the needle through with it. How can I make one please?
Just roll up some scraps, enclose them in a piece of fabric . . .Make it tight.

it is a very soft 3-ply cotton thread. I have only been able to find it in Mainali, Karnataka
Margaret, one thing I don't understand. Do the Siddi women sell these quilts? Is this their job or are these quilts only for personal use?
They have formed a collective and sell from there. I bought 6 from them when I was there.
