Danny's been a great player for a long time. From the days I would go down to O'Hara's in Ft. Lauderdale and see him with Dr. Lonnie Smith to now it has been an absolute pleasure to watch this man play the drums.
Ultra Live sound mixed Art in the Park on Las Olas years ago and Danny played. I tell this story to this day about a guy who has a tube to his kit. Awesome stuff!
Has anyone ever seen this before? What I want to know is, is the thing he's doing, the blowing through the tube thing, is that his thing or is it something drummers do? Do other drummers do this at all or is it something that's basically his shtick? Anyone know?
I used to mix Danny back in the day at Oharra's pub in fort lauderdale and before I saw him do this drum trick I had never seen anyone else do it. I have not seen anyone else do this besides him. I guess you can say this is his thing.
