- Travel video about destination Wyoming & South Dakota in USA.
Cheyenne is Wyoming’s most populated city. When the railroad was constructed in 1860 this “hell-like settlement at end of the railroad” became an important trading centre. For what was to become the federal government, the State Capitol was built and with its golden dome and Corinthian columns it is similar to its larger counterpart in Washington. In the middle of the eighteenth century French scouts were the first to penetrate this region that was then inhabited by the Arapaho and Shoshone Indians. The cowboys and farmers of the Old West needed to spend their hard earned money and Cheyenne profited accordingly and a profusion of hotels, saloons and warehouses suddenly appeared. The Badlands was given its name by the Native Indians due to the inhospitable terrain as they felt threatened by it. Thirty seven million years of wind, rain and snow transformed this highland into a natural work of art that was inaugurated as a national park in 1978. Set within the Black Hills in the state of South Dakota is one of the most famous landmarks in the United States, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial where four monumental portraits of the most famous American presidents have been carved into the granite and symbolize a kind of spectacular tribute to democracy. Twenty five kilometres south west of Mount Rushmore another stone image towers up from the landscape, the Crazy Horse Memorial. Constructed in 1947 it commemorates the famous chief of the Oglala Sioux and its dimensions are even larger than those of Mount Rushmore. As in former times, the routes of the first pioneers still bring visitors into the far west through overwhelming mountain scenery with grandiose views, Wild West towns, buffalo prairies and vast ranches. Make no mistake about it, America’s Wild West is still wild: a place of natural spectacles and nostalgic adventure!

Would love to know the music being played at 3:20, if anyone can shed some light. Ethereal and so beautiful.
I wish the USA was not nearly impossible for British Citizens to move to now days, every day I dream of moving to Wyoming.
Before you do make sure you check out everything about Wyoming yes it's beautiful but not so easy to make a living and towns and cities are far between each other we are very laid back people winter can be rough and it's long look up interstate l-80 I have seen many people move here only to move out because it's not what they expected
When people forget about South Dakota 🙏🙏
2:45 settelers forced to protect themselves?
i want to visit south dakota
I was born in Cheyenne
They look Asiatic, like Japanese. But some have almost white features.
Totally missed the largest tourist attraction of Sturgis, SD motorcycle rally, but I guess a bunch of fat bikers is unremarkable. The eastern part of South Dakota is unremarkable as well. Only thing of note there is the history of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Desmet, SD was the temporary home of Laura Ingles Wilder.
Maybe you should try reading some FACTS before showing what a fool you are. You must be from some crime-ridden dirty city with smog, murders, scammers, and filthy restaurants with rats running all over them.
Rodeo is pronounced "Ro-Dee-oh", not "Ro-Day-oh", and lasso is pronounced "Lah-sow", not "la-Soo".
Except in Beverly Hills, where it's row-DAY-oh Drive. "Who'da thunk it?" Regarding lasso--puh-TAY-toe/puh-TAH-toe. I agree totally, but there are so many pronunciation and terminology differences between our side of the pond and theirs, where do we draw the line, and is one actually right or wrong, or is it just different? There are also Caribbean, Aussie, New Zealand, and South African versions, and yet it's all English. Pretty amazing when you think about it.
Another beautiful video, but . . .
1) The old term was "Indian", which has now been replaced with the politically correct "Native American". When you say "Native Indian", you're straddling the fence. 2) Yellowstone is not only the first national park in the USA, but in the world. 3) It's Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone (River, that is), not Yellowstone Grand Canyon. 4) Too bad that when you were right next door in Jackson, you didn't pay a visit to Grand Teton National Park.
The Video was titled South Dakota but all I see is about Wyoming.
Badlands and mount Rushmore is in South Dakota
At 24:40, did he really say Wind Cave is the longest cave in the world? Man, do your homework before you make a documentary!
+gmaneis They're still hundreds of tunnels in there buddy, waiting to be discovered

Elna re
Use feet,not metric
+Brady Harl why not join the rest of the world and use metric. we gave you imperial measures and gave them up because they are stupid
Assuming you're a fellow American, we're the ones who need to do the converting, as we're the only country left which uses our Imperial system of measurement. This one's not hard at all--meters x 39.37 divided by 12 = # of feet. A close estimate without figuring is meters divided by 3.
