adding adapters is a bad idea they will burn out and you could fry the board what kind of safety resistors or fuses on that adapter I would stick with IDE harddrives
hello good morning, my hd is having problems formatting, do you have the VS operating system for me to save and format again and how much does it cost?, thanks Ryldo
My tests indicate you need the VS2480CD model mainboard to get the SSD mod to work. It did not work for me using a VS2480HD model mainboard. It did work when I changed it to a VS2480CD model mainboard. I hope this info is useful to others having issues with the SSD mod. The OP of this video has the VS2480CD model mainboard and so would not have noticed any issues with the SSD mod like all the VS2480HD model users are having.
Hi Rick, I have the VS2480HD with the hard drive at the front right, do you have a link to the IDE to SATA converter card you used for this. I hear a lot do not work.
@@ElectroIllusion I tried the exact same adapter, several copies and this never worked for me. The drive would be recognised but would fail at the end of the format every time. The only method I have got to work is the compact flash conversion and this is dependent on getting compatible CF cards. The SSD mod is very hit and miss.
@@scottxs904 - Since I sent you that message I found out you need the VS2480CD model mainboard to get the SSD mod to work. I have the VS2400CD - and I will be attempting an SSD mod with it soon. I agree this could be hit or miss.
Peace be to you, I have Yamaha AW 2400's each with Y96k's from Waves thought of fan, ssd, capacitor replacements. Your work is rewarded. I loved the honesty of this highly interesting video. Nice, ...On another subject, Someone sent me a song on a CD, saved as Data and I tried to load it but, it tells me "Can not execute current drive is Archive Drive" What does that mean ??? Thank you

It's good to know the truth.

Hi Scott - He says he used the JP103-5 IDE to SATA adapter. (in the video description). Did you end up buying the JP103-5?

Be careful. The Panasonic UJ-860 does not have the correct connector on the back. Verify the connector type before replacing the CD Burner.

It sounds like the data has not been saved in a way that you can replay it. there are 2 or 3 options for saving data, try again with another option
Great. I have a vs that doesn't play the tracks and when it does there is static. Can I swap my hard drive with another used vs to retrieve my songs?
Static noise would indicate you may need to replace the capacitors, and nothing to do with the hard drive
What samsung drive did you use ? I plan on swit thing my vs over to ssd eventually . I currently have the Kingston so I wont even try with that one.
at 2:45 in the video - he says he used the "Samsung Evo 860 250GB"
Thanks for posting. Just checking, have u had any issues with the parts you used? I’m thinking of going this route and doing this upgrade.
Works fine
Can the same mods be done to a vs2000cd?
Not sure, chech vsplanet
