Hey! Khezu was a wall for me once as well, I think he may be the first real challenge for a lot of players. I make it seem easier because I get to try it a bunch of times before uploading 😉 Khezu is really hard at this point of the game, hell, in High and G-Rank they become hard again lol I remember the first time I fought it, the metallic scream and lack of music actually unnerved me, which was helped by how dangerous it was and how little margin for error I had, I was a little anxious fighting it. By now, I know its moves so well that there's really no second guessing what it's going to do, so I'm able to move more freely and make assumptions based on past experiences, you'll get there too, just stick with it 😃 A rule of thumb I've learned is it's best to always assume it's going to do its most annoying move, or the one you get hit by the most. If you assume it'll do that, then you can act in ways to prevent yourself getting hit, and if it doesn't do the move you assume it did, its other attacks should be less dangerous or less likely to hit you. I'm, of course, talking about Khezu's AOE attack, unless it's turning towards you, always assume it'll be its next attack, and reposition away from it while you're still able to. Keep it up! You got this 🙂
Even tho i can kill khezu more easier now (thanks to ur guide), i still find khezu as the most terrifying wyvern, it feels like the devs had a nightmare when they were developing the game then straight put it into the game🤣
Thumbnail: a rather undesirable Khezu kiss. Having started my days as a hunter on P3rd, I was actually more familiar with Khezu's faraway cousin, Gigginox. I actually find Gigginox both more difficult to deal with and more disgusting, believe it or not.
Haha yeah, I can definitely relate to that, when I first played, I thought it was impossible to hit this thing without taking 3/4ths of my health away. It definitely demands patience and introduces you to the concept of how monster hunter can be a bit of an endurance test.
Khezu is a wall to me. He's literally a wall to me because my ls keep bouncing off everytime i hit him like bruh, am i using ls or a pickaxe? Is bone katana"shark" a bad choice? Welp, good or not he's ded now.
Lmao, yeah Khezu is tough!! If you hit his tail you'll definitely bounce, try and aim for his legs or his head. You also want a good enough sharpness, bone weapons tend to have worse sharpness than the iron ones. Bone Katana Shark builds into some very good weapons, one path eventually is the best fire LS in the game, but right now it's got a sliver of green sharpness which can be tricky to work with. Great job with Khezu!! Keep it up 🙂
It seems easier with a longsword, I'm doing a run with only the hammer and I must say this Khezu was real pain. Lacking range whatsoever I had to come real close to the head in order to hit him, and being tremendously slow with every swing timing was essential.
Yeeah, at that point you basically want to focus on using the Shockwave from the slam attack to hit his head, and maybe like the second charge level. Don't overcommit, but, like always, certain monsters are better fought with certain weapons. Only using one weapon, you're going to run into a lot of problems, unfortunately.

i literally started the game yesterday. I finished my beginner school and now i trid a 2 star mission with a monster named Khezu. I had my beginning sword and shield, with upgraded armour. Little did i know....LOL all my attacks bounced off. Im guessing i need to upgrade my weapons or use a different one, like the LS or GS right? xD
Well, the 1 and 2 star guild quests are a bit too "early" for you to be fighting them, and they're meant to be "practice" monsters, so you can't get some of their materials from those quests, which means you won't be able to get some equipment. You should either be starting in 3 star guild quests or do the village quests. The guild quests are meant to be taken on after you've played a bit in village, and/or with other people, they're multiplayer quests. The village quests are meant to be taken on and finished as a single player, you can only go into them alone and with felyne comrades. 1 and 2 star guild hall quests specifically should be avoided, tbh. as for bouncing, you're going to need to focus on hitting the right parts and getting a higher quality sharpness. Simply put, you want to attack monster parts that are weakest, if you're bouncing, it means you're attacking a monster part that is too strong and you should try to hit something else. If you're bouncing *everywhere* it means you need a better weapon with a higher quality of sharpness. As a rule of thumb, monsters heads are weak spots, and yellow sharpness and below should be avoided at all costs. Green or higher is necessary for various reasons one of which being bouncing. For Khezu in particular, you should try and hit its head and definitely avoid hitting its tail. I think its legs are also fine to attack, but hitting its wings may cause you to bounce, i'm not too sure. I hope that helped, good luck, keep it up! 🙂
@@HeadHunter455 thank you sir. I tried hitting the wings. Bounced off, but never tried the legs. I think I’ll go retry and focus on village quests for now! Thanks a bunch
I can kill him in the training school, but not ingame :(( My shark longsword just bounces off of everything except the head. I do aim for the head but sometimes I hit one of his wings and the stun is just long enough for him to combo me. Also playing on an actual psp so the clunk is not helping xD.
Hi!! I am currently on the Khezu quest and I am using a hunting horn but why are all my attacks being deflected?? I am thinking of using a long sword for this quest but can I know tips on how to beat it with the hunting horn?? Thanks!!
Well, for Khezu in particular (and most monsters, depending on rank), you have to be careful what part you're attacking, some parts are tougher than others, which will make your attack bounce off (That's what is meant by when a monster part is "bouncy") For Hunting horn, if you play your double white note song, it'll make you move faster, if you play it again while that's still active, it will make your weapon less likely to bounce when hitting a hard spot, it may even prevent it but I'm not a HH user so I can't say. You still want to attack the softer parts of a monster, such as Khezu's head, as that will deal more damage and the fight won't take as long, meaning there's less time to make mistakes and end up killed. I hope that helps, good luck!
im so pissed i began replaying mhfu recently on my psp but everytime i aim for the leg it seems to keep deflecting my long sword its like i have to hit a specfic piece of his leg
Yeah, if your sharpness isn't good enough you may bounce in places where you shouldn't. Khezu's tail is pretty bouncy, but I think if you have at least green sharpness you should be fine hitting his legs, I dunno. Some moves/and weapons will also bounce when other moves/weapons wouldn't. SNS for example has "better" sharpness than some other weapons, so you can get away with hitting some parts where others couldn't.
@@HeadHunter455 thank you! i will try to keep tabs on that sharpness i had no idea! i sort of thought the sharpness went from straight knife > jagged knife > jagged red knife lol I had no idea about the green and yellow! I promise i will kill this monster!
Will fighting against it with dark scythe work? I've been trying a lot and have been dodging and getting chip damage pretty often, but it just does not die.In the end, I just ran out of stamina and hot drinks
Hey, I mean, sure it will. It'll do a bit more damage as long as you have green sharpness, but I think the LS I used has a longer green sharpness. You just have to make sure to hit the right spots of Khezu, specifically his neck, if you can, or his head, to do the most damage, which can be very hard because of how the fight works. There's some tips in the description, if you haven't read that yet, also keep in mind this is the village Khezu, not the guild hall one, that one will have more health and might do more damage as well. If you're playing solo, there's no good reason to go to the guild hall before completing the village quests. Good luck! Stick with it! 🙂
😓 Khezu is really tough, honestly. I even still have trouble with him. Maybe consider using a Lance? If you block his thunder AOE once you can let go of the block and attack him while he does it, maybe that'd help?

@iurigomes603 this is the point where you'll need to focus on where you're attacking as well as what weapon you're bringing. Try to use what I'm using and do what I'm doing in the video if you're having trouble, but main things are you should try to get green sharpness, and try to hit his head. You're also quite likely to bounce on his tail, especially given the equipment we have to work with for a two star village elder urgent quest........
This early in the game, you're going to be replacing weapons and armor very quickly, it's really not worth thinking about too much. The only reason I used the Velociprey Helm was because the Hi-Metal helmet takes a Lightcrystal, and I didn't want people to have to farm something rare like that, *especially* this early in the game where the piece of equipment is going to be replaced in like one or two quests. The general philosophy of my videos does not follow what is most effective, just what is most practical. I go for gear that's good but won't be annoying or painful to farm for, when I can help it.
