I am a novice turner. I was fortunate enough to be able to buy a set of your tools. I used them for the first time this week and it was magical when I got the angle right. I turned a bowl faster and better than I ever have before. The Finisher is great! I'm so glad that I bought it. The bottom of my bowl was so clean that I only touched it with some 320 SP.

I am convinced that the Laguna 1524 is the lathe for me. I am further convinced that I want to use traditional bowl turning tools. And I am convinced that the tormek machine will not cause a devastating fire like I had to endure. That said, I will be buying all at one time

Just came across Ashley Hardwood videos. I just learned more in 2 videos than another's. I've searched TH-cam over for information on wood turning and today Ashley Hardwood is a suggested video. Great information for beginners and experienced turners.

Love my Ashley Harwood 40/40 gouge.Such a thoughtful design and a joy to watch the ribbons of shavings fly off the wood.

The more satisfied one is with one's own tools, the more willing one will be to use them as well. That's why quality tools is worth it and should be seen as an investment. Price per year is more important than the price alone, and often times more expensive things will easily cost less to own because you most likely will care more for it as well.

I got your bottom bowl gouge around the beginning of the year and let me tell you, I am LOVING “The Finisher”!!
Love the design and the little improvements that you made. I’ve used other bottom bowl gouges before, and they work really well but, yours outshines anything else out there!

Yup. Good tools make all the difference in the world. Worth noting, with steel tools, you'll need slow speed grinder. Thanks for sharing.

I highly recommend Ashley's tools. I've had run of the mill gouges and very cheap ones. Using average gouges then Ashley's gouges is like going from a VW to a Cadillac. Using either one of the push cut bowl gouges, you can take a big bite on a push cut or a finite cut. They hold a edge longer and a light pass will sharpen it. All the tools are super.

I will be glad to get back to turning... Had to take a little break due to shoulder surgery. I have made a couple trips to the shop but can only handle a little bit. It won't be long til I get hold of my Ashley Harwood Bowl gouge.

I received my 5/8 inch Push Cut Bowl Gouge and 22 inch Carbon Fiber Handle (I should have thought about that handle length lol. I have to remove my whole tail stock to use it inside the bowls lol)
Let me tell y'all. This MoFo CUTS!!!! Like, I was throwing shavings that were like 1/4 inch thick, without even pushing. This gouge just slides right through the wood!!
Well worth the money, and Ashley even sent a handwritten note❤

thank you ashley! i really enjoy watching your videos. I have a sharpening question... I was told that the wheels of the sharpening machine must turn away from the person and not towards the person (thus not from top to down but from down to top). what is your opinion and your practice ? i thank you very much for your reply and wish you unending turning fun!!! lili

I think i'm spoiled because I have all these tools and they are so good!!!!!. I think I need to buy the larger vicmark chuck. And while I'm at it probably I need to get a full-size lathe.

I’m looking at getting into wood turning and would really appreciate the advice. I want a lathe that I can get started on , at the same time this is an investment and I certainly appreciate quality you get what you pay for !! Just want to turn small like bowls , not big furniture parts . So many on the market

Was really hoping to travel to SC this winter (this northerner would melt down there in the summer) so you can show me how to use the new tools but it seems your classes fill up within hours. Looks like I need to acquaint myself with Patreon.
