Currently Ambassador, it’s definitely not always the case to get an upgrade but we have been blessed with one many times now. It doesn’t hurt to ask. I would always reach out and request one based on availability.
Hi Josh. Thanks for doing this great review! I’m your new subscriber. Just making sure I heard correctly - the onsen requires all guest to wear NO clothing? I’m also trying to contact the hotel to verify as I will be traveling with family.
Thanks and welcome! That is correct, no clothing allowed in the Onsen here. They do have separate ones for men and women but do have staff members checking to make sure you have no clothes on or they won’t let you in. Also no tattoos are allowed. I had a better experience at the Mitsui Hotel, one onsen there that is co-ed and there they require everyone to wear swimming clothes and will provide you with one if you don’t have one.
@@gogotravelwithjosh thanks for your swift reply Josh! Your channel is one of the best I’ve seen reviewing Marriott Bonvoy hotels. Keep up the great work! Appreciate. Yeah I’m considering between MITSUI and Westin; planning to stay 5 nights in Kyoto using Bonvoy points (4 nights, free 1 night). Leaning towards MITSUI now as they allow swimwear, plus the property like great.
U sound like a well traveled and respectful guy and I find your video informative and easy to follow. so I am giving you the benefit of doubt that sticking your chopsticks upright in the bowl was unintentional, it may seem like a convenient way to rest your chopsticks but it’s not appropriate to do that in Asia especially seen as rude in Japan and related to death.
Wow! Almost 400 views in 3 days. Amazing!
May I ask what elite tier you are? Most marriott in US and Europe don’t seem up give suite upgrade easily. 😏

Thank you for the kind feedback! Overall the Mitsui is a whole level above the Westin, so much more luxurious, I like it a lot better!

Thank you so much for your feedback, I appreciate it and will make sure that doesn’t happen again, lol
